The energy requirement is a statement from the beginning of life itself. A body needs to grow and reproduce power, the movement of any animal is an energy expenditure, and even the fact of plant and animal respiration involves energy action. In all matters relating to individual or social life energy is present.
Today, talk of energy is very familiar to millions of people, given the profound influence it has on human welfare, including access to water, agricultural productivity, health, education, job creation and environmental sustainability . Hence it is expressed: "... the history of mankind is linked to man's use of energy means it has provided the nature, environment and technological systems has been built for maximum utility."
In Cuba, they have implemented effective measures for saving energy, as a high priority, so that the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz in 2006 called the "Year of the Energy Revolution in Cuba." From what he said: "There is no doubt that Cuba is in a period of transition, but they dream and delude themselves enemies of the Revolution. The Cuban transition is from darkness to light, the narrowness large to a much better position. "
He also stressed that produce electricity for the Cuban people is improving the quality of life, accelerated development of the country on all fronts and its future economic invulnerability, which amply justifies the Energy Revolution being undertaken in the country.
It is for teachers to find ways that enable the development of attitudes favorable energetic students. To achieve this, they must participate actively and creatively, as protagonists of change in personal and collective behavior, by implementing the Energy Education, through the Energy Saving Program of the Ministry of Education (PAEM).
As part of compliance with this program, the Basic Secondary Education Project, includes a learning goal that enhances the development of PAEM and which is derived from each grade at this level, aimed at the correct attitude towards the environment and saving resources, particularly energy, and the care of social ownership, by contributing content subjects, and variants. This objective is derived from the seventh grade: "familiarization Conduct studies on the environment, biodiversity in their environment and energy resources, participating in actions to conserve and care of social property, by providing the content subjects, the tasks of the José Martí Pioneers Organization (OPJM) PAEM and circles of interest, among others. "
The author of this work, during the course 2005 - 2006 prepared the Manual for linking activities to PAEM Geography 1, seventh grade, which was implemented with positive results. However, continued research on this topic at the same grade, based on the potential that currently offers the Natural Science course, it also includes the subject of Biology, which contributes equally to the implementation of its proposed actions PAEM .
