According to an audit report released by the NASA Office of the Inspector General, there were several security breaches at four NASA facilities: the Kennedy and Johnson Space Centers and the Ames and Langley Research Centers.

The computers at the Kennedy Space Centre had failed verification testing and still contained sensitive data while being sold to the general public.
Some of the computers even had NASA's IP addresses on them, which could have easily led to them being hacked.
