It's, indeed, in a pathetic state and nobody seems to be concerned to save this great river!
I remember the Yamuna river scene from the movie 'Rann' of Abhishek Bachan.
People must feel ashamed of doing the sin of polluting rivers.
I think it is the most polluted river also as it flows through many cities.
Thanks for bringing this into highlight and yes looking at the link it seems that if corrective steps are not taken soon it will result in a sewage canal soon. Also its is a holy river and hold same importance as Ganga.
Here again our politicians are up to their dirty games! In Delhi colonies have been allowed to come up and legalised one after another around Yamuna river!

The same story is repeated in Pune too!! Actually there is a powerful nexus between the builders and the local politicians which allows such illegal constructions to happen, thereby blocking the natural flow of rivers and streams.
Such short-sightedness prevents taking a larger view of things and I was struck to know a person who owns three such properties adopting the same means. His modus operandi was to occupy a government land and wait for some years for legalization of his occupancy!!
Thanks for giving more details chinmoy and kalyani..I agree that politicians are culprit so as public. :(
Was that Taj Corridor scam also related with this River Yamuna?
I wonder if there is any link between Taj corridor scam and Yamuna river!I am not aware of this.
Truely, its adverse condition for the holy river. Government need to take quick action to avoid more garbage coming in river.
I wonder what good things and heritages are we going to leave for the upcoming generation?. :( :(
if we don't care for our heritage, surely we are going to lose them!
I agree with Chinmoy that our hertiage is at risks..and it is duty of government as well as public to save it.
We have to make greater efforts to save our rivers which are our lifelines!
Yes Ceem, rivers are our lifelines.Keeping them clean is the responsibility of each citizen.
So after knowing that we are going to loose Yamuna River, My opinion is, being an Indians every Indian has responsibility and right to fight about this with people who had the authority to handle such kind of issues.
