    P. Chidambaram is by no means a great economist since he has a degree in law and done an MBA at Harvards which teaches him business management and that does not necessarily make him a great economist. However, even if one agrees that he is all that he claims to be since his nose is perpetually up in the air, his policies have only taken India in one direction so far - downward ! So what is he trying to claim? that he is great inspite of all that ? he is snobbish having criticised people left , right and center and is disliked by his own partymen and lesser one gives importance to his words the better ! Let us hope he will be out of the political picture in a couple of months ...

    Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

    So, our finance minister expects all the members of the house should be a graduate in economics. And our cultural minister expects all the members should be eminent dancers, stage artists and singers.
    Instead of taking a dig at Modi about his lack of knowledge in economics, Mr FM should know that he should explain his financial matters in an easy yo understand language so that all members can understand.


    I agree. The Finance minister should reply politely without commenting on quality of knowledge of the critics. There is no harm in replying to criticism by even primary level student.


    There is an amicable way of answering a member's queries. In the absence of this parliamentary proceedings will turn in to unparliamentary proceedings leading to friction.


    He has not said so in parliament. He has said outside parliament in response to Modi's criticim in election rally.


    Outside or inside parliament, a people's representative should be polite and make his views in a clear lucid way. Instead FM is showing ignorance of minimum etiquette ways.

    More than once union finance minister had a dig at ignorance of the opposition. He feels difficuylty in arguing economic decisions with BJP P.M. candidate Modi whos knowlege according to Finance Minister is just that of eight standard student. Now he has also said that critics of Gas price hike are ignorant of economics.

    Indeed Chidambram is in a very pitiable condition. How he can enter in arguments with thopse who know nothing. after all, he is FR.M. and not a school teacher. I also wonder why eminent opposition leaders like yashwant Sinha, who may be knowing economicxs better don't say anything on economic issues. The F.M. would be more comfortable with knowledgeable opposition leaders.

    Economic policies of a country is something that everyone is interested in since all the citizens are contributing towards the revenue. The minister plans and spends what the population contributes and it is sheer arrogance for an elected representetive to think that no one else has any right to speak about it...Most of us may not know the technicalities involved but are interested to know how our money is being spent and put forth our opinions and that is the sign of a true democracy not autocratic governance like Congress has been carrying out, bringing in laws behind clased doors, shunting people out of their jobs when the son in law's dark deeds are made public etc etc ...

    By being at the helm of the affairs, he thinks that he's the be all and end all. This is nothing but self deceiving coward's attitude.
