What goes up must also come down, and bigger they are, the harder they fall! But will it prove true for both these countries?
Read this article, its an interesting one although it does seem quite partial to me!

I totally agree with what has been written about India , am quoting here "
India's economy, by stark comparison, is struggling to rid itself of the giant ball-andchain its political system has become these past 10 years...
.and
" The things China and India do have in common may prove toxic once investors begin panicking: weak institutions and legal systems that undermine investor confidence and will be out of their depth during a market meltdown; a huge gap between rich and poor that could foment social instability; ambitious local government officials and deeply entrenched vested interests that will meddle in the financial rescue process; and a dismal world economy that offers little room for the Asian giants to export their way back to health"

Exactly! And in spite of having a brilliant economist as our head of state, our power-crazy politicians are expediating the disintegration process by introducing more and more schemes seemingly for poor and starved, but the poor remain poor and starved while the middlemen become rich. What no one realises is that once we fall, all those sackfuls of money will worth no more than ashes!

That is the whole tragedy of this country , no one seems to care about the basic issues and taking the country forward and there is no unity among politicians ! their differences and hatred spills over all issues and becomes a stumbling black where growth is concerned.Unless there is a total change in attitude and mind set I doubt if we can achieve much in a decade or even two or three decades ...
China will never cooperate with India. India will never participate in destructive activities. China can do so together with Muslim countries.
Devyani, I think you have not read the article carefully. This is not about participating in destructive activities but that these two countries are powerful economies that are growing with a phenomenal speed and in the eventuality they crash down, they will take the entire world with them because other countries are heavily investing in these. This is about economics and not about terrorism!

The kind of nuclear stockpile the world has accumulated, this planet can be destroyed thousand times over and as for India its politicians are more than enough to ...???
That's right they are giants in Asia just because there is lot of market here in both the countries which was explored long back by US but I think now the way Chinese products are reigning in the world it looks Chinese economy is going to beat any nation of the world so is true with India but we are still growing with the lower rate compared to China.

The brand Chinese products is very weak and that is what going to hurt it in the long run.

This perception is valid. The voluminous production is at the cost of quality. This applies to their consumer durables as well as industrial goods>

But the Chinese are clever and one step ahead of us. Even though these products are quite bad in quality and break down easily, they have made them available at such low prices that one does not stop to think about throwing the broken piece and buying a new one. So even though may may slam Chinese products, we have no option but to go and buy these only since there are no other substitutes.
and yet they have also done a good job in other fields such as art, print media etc. Most of the countries are now getting their books printed in China, can you believe that? We often need to buy books on art and art history as reference material for my husband and we buy those books from Amazon, Dover and other publications etc. 98% of all these books are printed in China and it is a very huge market! Same books printed elsewhere are not really up to the mark! So while the Chinese are flooding the world with their worthless goods, at the same time they are also assuring that they offer something else that will not be overlooked by others/

I do accept that China has fully leveraged its strengths to make itself the huge manufacturing hub of the world. You name any company of repute, these are having their bases in China.

That is what I am talking about! And that also is the reason for us to worry, they are making it very very sure that should they fall hard, they won't do that all alone! Leave it on China to cause the maximum damage!
China alone can destroy the world. It has shown more than once that it follows an aggressive policy. It is a large country with a large population. Its economy is surging ahead. It is in the space arena too. It is trying to compete with USA. After the decline of USSR China is the natural inheritor of the cold war legacy. If the world leaders are not careful these two giants can turn into enemies, putting the world to a serious danger of destruction.
Most of HP computer hardware is manufactured in China, and this in the long run worst effect on it as most of the times, there has been many bad effects of these and consequently HP products gone bad to worse due to their over dependence on Chinese manufacturers, where as Samsung is slowly replacing because of good quality products. That's right they are giants in Asia just because there is lot of market here in both the countries which was explored long back by US but I think now the way Chinese products are reigning in the world it looks Chinese economy is going to beat any nation of the world so is true with India but we are still growing with the lower rate compared to China. :blink:Chinese products are there everywhere and they seem to dump products in order to increase business, but one myth is also associated with it that these products does not have any value associated with it as well as these products are meant for short term not for long term. India is far behind this. China can move ahead to destroy the world's economy just after America. The incident of WTO has crashed the whole market economy. It was great setback. India is a country where other nations are investing for productive gains. The more investments are done, more is the number of people below poverty level.
China has both technique and technology to conquer the world's economy and rule.

Compromise with quality is a very dangerous game and a very short-sighted policy and China would realize in the days to come that quantity alone won't mean anything. Quality is supreme from the marketing point of view.
As such Chinese products would not be successful due to lack of quality standards, if they want to succeed they should bring good quality products with a good and fair price, Indian smart phone manufacturers are giving tough times to already established smart phone manufacturers, people can purchase cheaper products but if they realize that these products are not worth of it slowly they will move to some other market. To my mind as far as innovations is concerned Chinese products are worth looking at but these suffer on durability count.
