Many of us know that the cosmetics that we use in our daily life are mostly animal tested. But what we do not know is the level of cruelty the petite animals like rabbits, mice and guinea pigs have to face in the process of testing. Highly concentrated samples of these cosmetics are tested on animals to study the side effects if any and make them safer for use by humans.

The first step we can take is to stop the use of animal tested cosmetics. Be more aware of the products we use and see if we are using any such products that have been tested on animals. There are a number of organisations (like peta) that can help you to know about brands that use animals for testing their products.

The best way is to use natural cosmetics. This will help you in saving your own skin from the hazardous chemicals as well as the animals that are being used to carry the tests,.

Thats true, just to satisfy our needs and greed hundreds of animals are either sacrified or get maimed in the process of testing....The best option is to use natural products got from your kitchen which are as effective as any of the branded ones. ..

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

I agree. We should avoid cosmetics and other products that need cruelty to animals. When we come to know through any source about cruelty in any product, we should avoid that.

That is true, and in reality we do not need all those expensive cosmetics, all of those tall claims made by them are mere their marketing gimmicks. If we keep our lifestyle healthy with proper nutritious food, regular exercises etc. we will never need half of all those anti-wrinkle, anti-ageing, lotions, creams, serums, shampoos etc. Where lipsticks etc are concerned there are now a wide range of herbal products which are safe to use and have never been tasted on animals nor do they contain animal fat like many products do.

Do you know the process of making lipstick! Some brands use crushed red bugs besides usual metal and Lead.

But that happens everywhere how can we stop this. Even the newly developed medicines are tested on animals first then are launched in the market. Cruelty against animals every where.

Most effective and non- invasive alternative medicines are at our disposal which do not warrant for testing on animals for their efficacy.. Seeing these atrocities on the animals people all over the world including those advanced countries who once laughed at our ancient medical quintessence ,standing in queue to make a trip to Kerala’s Ayurvedic SPAS. If one cares to look at the stats of Medical tourism, the increase in tourism for medical especially Ayurvedic treatment will say all about Traditional medicines’ efficacy.
And this applies to cosmetic industry also.
The title of the thread is on cruelty to animals. The title does not make this clear. So, I am making a small change by editing.
Cruelty to animals cannot be totally avoided. But we should bring this to minimum. We can stop using products that involve cruelty to animals. But it is for medical scientists to decide how far they can reduce such cruelty and the pain suffered by animals.
