Mid day meal to children is a very good scheme as such. But what if this kills children? This is what happened in Bihar. This is most unfortunate and indicates that better management of such schemes is of paramount importance.

    The toll has risen up to 22 now! A scheme that was meant to provide nutrition took away the lives of these innocent kids. Those responsible must be brought to book.

    It is revealed that there is gross negligence. The pesticide container were used in process of measuring or cooking. Some more instances of this type have been reported from Bihar and other states.

    Like everything else, another good scheme is on a downward spiral. In spite of having such large population, it is very shameful that there is no efficient machinery involved to drive most such schemes effortlessly. It is great shame that there is so gross negligence in sensitive and important matters concerning children, who are the future of this country.

    Now Nitiish says it was a conspiracy. He adds that organic phosphorus was added in the food served to the children to defame him.

    It is neither the first incident of its kind nor it's gong to stop here. The fact is we hear about such incidents in every part of our country. We have short memory and our governments never care beyond announcing compensations. This should be declared an offence equal to murder.

    In a fresh incident on Wednesday, a lizard was found in the food supplied to school children in Madhubani, Bihar. 50 kids fell ill. Are you hearing Nitish ?

    Close on the heels of the Bihar tragedy, another tragedy has struck in Tamil Nadu where over a 100 students have been reported ill after eating their midday meals. Although the doctors have declared that most children are out of danger, isn't such negligence mean that we are playing with fire?

    It is not just the HM but the entire government machinery that is responsible for such tragic incidents. There are so many mafia-type people in these schemes as it has give rise to black market for selling these grains. Also lack of responsibility and efficiency in driving such schemes. Really shameful.

    We cannot expect corruption free management of any government scheme. But serving deadly and poisonous food in mid day meals to school children is very heinous and devilish.
