Now efforts are on to have a single Emergency number for all kinds of emergencies like some of the other countries.

Yes that would be convinient for people as its not easy to mug up several emergengy numbers it would be lot more easier to remember just one number for anything. :)

This practice is already there in other countries. For example Australia's single emergency number is 000, so easy to remember.

May be its successful in Australia because of less population there for country like India where the population is a major problem I think it won't work. :blink:
Emergency numbers are always busy. In case we have single emergency number, problem will be more.
