After the drought the deluge. Thirty thousand quintals of onion arrived at Lasalgaon Mandi in Nashik by 11.00 am Tuesday and were being traded for as little as Rs 4.30 per kg. TOI had forecast this dip last week. It remains to be seen how soon this surfeit will benefit the common consumer in Mumbai given that retail rates continue to hover at Rs 25-45 per kg. It's worth noting that no sooner have prices reduced than APMC traders are pushing for the government to resume exports.

After the high onion prices, which are hovering over Rs. 55 a kg affecting the common man, price of tomatoes jumped on Thursday by Rs. 3 to Rs. 4 a kilo

Good to here that, finally the prices of onions and tomatoes will come down to their original place.
this may be a good news to the people, who are waiting for the price decrease of onion to purchase.

Recently when i ate pani puri in chat stall i was initially not given onions ..and on demand also i was not given onions..now i feel that how much scarcity we are having..
Good the prices of onions have atleast come down but the prices of tomatoes are still high.....
Rs 4 per kilogram! That may be the reason in our market price to slash down to Rs 25 per Kg!
