'Master' has several meanings. This is used as title before children. Also this means 'one who is in control'. Thus station master is so called as 'he is in control of station'. A school master is 'in control of class'.

Master word does not include subjective speciality but station master is related to station only.

Sunil a station master can perform all functions and duties of a master. He is mainly appointed to look after railway station. So he is called a station master.
