@Rajani

You seem to find my smileys as your true friends!
This type of friendship is too idealist. every individual is a distinct identity and retains his/her individuality despite any relation. Howsoever close the relation be- Friendship, love, marriage or other- there is no such thing as one soul in two bodies. Resemblance of such ties appears in twins but this is only a resemblance and not so real.

I too find this type of friendship too idealistic and too boring!! :)

A true friend is someone who in spite of disagreeing with you on some points will still accept and respect your way of thing and vice versa!! Nevertheless, a good quote from Aristotle, compiled by our own philosopher Chinmoy!! :)

"I am free of all prejudice. I hate everyone equally."
- W. C. Fields :)

@Kalyani

A true friendship accommodates disagreement too and there lies the beauty of it!!

And yours truly a philosopher!!! We stand two poles apart!!
this quote is really very heart touching.........
True friendship just involves openness. True friends have no inhibitions and hesitations before each other. The may demand anything from each other and also accept/ refuse without any fear or hesitation. This is underlying principle of 'Maitri club' formed by Late Ravi at Agra.
But true friendship is rare and idealistic. We have to accommodate at lesser level.

Friendship is a unique relation. Other relations are either blood relation or created by marriage. Brother, sister, father, mother are blood relation. wife, brother/ sister- in law- these are a creation of marriage.

Friendship is our own choice. That is what makes this unique. Friends are our own choice and not thrust.
