I agree. Rather let me refine. An educated person who does not read is worse than an illiterate. An illiterate may not read but may compensate by listening. I remember that many illiterates in Delhi would gather in a public park in Delhi and one educated person would read news to them. The urge to gain knowledge is more important.

Very nice explanation.I too agree that the lot of an educated person who is averse to reading is far worse.
