I think PK was quite an okay movie with a good message. It all depends on the perception. The message that was conveyed at the end was very good enough.
However, movies these days are all commercial, without relevance, message & subject. What entices the senses are being scripted into the movie and being injected into the Cinema Industry as a movie. It is not a good sign, apart from Akshay Kumar's patriotic and message oriented movies, there are hardly any movies that make sense and relevance.

I would say that we have more sensible and realistic movies coming up recently. But we can not deny that there is some unnecessary trend of item numbers and other vulgar scenes and dialogues with dual meaning also on rise. They are just not necessary for any good entertaining movie but are there. It might be the case that it is in demand as it is public that makes them hit. So we can not blame only cinema but also the audience in our society.

Movies reflect what is prevalent in the societies. Earlier, zamindar system and caste systems were practiced rigidly, so movies were made on such themes. Nowadays, its less practiced. So movies are made on different themes.
As Arunima rightly mentioned, nowadays movies are more realistically made. If violence are shown, its because societies are becoming more violent. Unfortunately, A few bad movies try to glorifies such violence and things like that
It has been psychologically proved that certain actions shown on the cinema can have a very negative impact on the average film goer. It need not be violence or sleeze. Just take for an example the way women are portrayed in film after and serial after serial where she is shown putting up with all evils including having extra marital affairs by her husband , domination by her in-laws but when it cones to her own self , going to the extent of committing suicide when she gets raped or even if a man souch as looks at her...these are far more dangerous and the root cause of twisting the mindset of the people..

Almost all movies depict that woman have bad character and can be lured easily by stalking them, calling them or buying some stuff but this does not happen in real life. This encourages people to stalk random girls , approach random girls or call random girls
High Budget movies are on the rise with Thugs of Hindustan, Baahubali, Robo 2.0, etc coming into theatres. In one way it is good in the sense that more modern kind of effects & hollywood level modernization is happening in industry. Baahubali & Robo are good movies with some meaning.

Absolutely true. In a way, scenes depicted in movies make it more easily acceptable in the societies. Another type of scenes which has a negative impact is that of the hero following heroines with wolf whistles or behaving like a road side romeo. Even so called good and meaningful film depicts such scenes. So many youngsters or rowdies end up acting like these heroes and harass women.

Baahubali and Robo have set the benchmark for VFX for the Indian Cinema. Even in today's date there is no bollywood movie in comparison to these movies. Bollywood movie producers and director want to achieve big by spending very little. They should learn from the makers of Baahubali. TOH was criticized a lot due to poor visual effects and item songs.
Films should not be given too much importance because they are more for entertainment than anything else. Any film makers target would be making a huge profit. It is only a handful that make entertaining and meaningful films. We had Hrishikesh Mukherji , Baasu Chatterjee , GulzGr and a couple of others who gave us wonderful unforgettable entertainers. I wish we have at least a few such films being made by committed directors ..
