I like the title that has been used The God virus, which is very apt since the very issue or institution eats into every sphere of our life. Whetheer it adds quality or not is again a bif question mark since we have no way of knowing what life would be without religion...

One is belief in God, philosophy and spirituality. Religion is also a community. Personally I am an atheist but also belong to Hindu community. Hence there is nothing wrong to follow Hindu rituals pertaining to marriage, death etc. Also matter of succession will be decided by Hindu law.
