I really don't like facebook. It is wastage of time. Nothing productive is done on this site except likes, dislikes and comments.

Facebook pages are for your business or in other case your personal promotion of say any talent which you have like : photography , or knowledge material..
Pages can provide a good business to you if you update them properly... For an individual it may be nothing much but for business entities they are very good method to reach its customer.
If you look closely.. u'll get how things are connected... Its just buziness....

I login facebook for the first time 2 months back.
Yesterday, when I got request of my friend of degree life, I login again....
I viewed its pages and was surprised to know its features. Now only I understood, how people are finding their friends through fb.
From our friends, we can details of his/her friends......and it's sure, a few of them are our friends too....it forms a chain later.
Yesterday, by this way, I send fined requests to more than 25-30 friends of my degree and MCA......many of those MCA friends I don't know details after my marriage.
Now I want a few school and PDC friends.....waiting for adding the first one to start a chain.

By adopting some seo methods I promote it. This is one of the best ways to promote your blog, you should have as many friends as possible (The real friends and people who are interested). That's how I use Facebook without even going to it. The share button appears on your blog page itself.

This certainly is a good source for traffic along with twitter. You can share your links of your websites at a click of a button without going to Facebook.
