The country is in the grip of a band of corrupt and fiendishly greedy persons who masquerade as realtors and promoters and these mean creatures manage to flout all civilized norms and rule to have their way by greasing the palms of the high and mighty of the civic authorities of many cities and town and devastating fire at Stephen Court located in one of the upscale parts of Kolkata recently which claimed so many innocent lives is glaring instance of such unholy nexus. The top two which were illegally added,were subsequently legalized through payment of fines.Even the Chief Minister sounded helpless on the growing clout of realtors!

Surprisingly, last year also a big fire accident claimed many lives and huge property. even then the govt is not alert. The fire accidents occur every year in summer all over the country. It appears that fire precautions are seriously taken only in Army. at other places, all are busy only in making current profits and not bothering about fire risk. The establishments do not have proper electrical wiring, water storage and fire fighting equipments and no training for such events. This is time that the fire fighting is given as much importance as anti terrorism is given.

We hear a lot about disaster management and that sort of stuff but when a disaster strikes,it is all for us to see the pathetic response on the part of the administration to any such disaster.
