I can understand most languages of the North, East and wast of India. The languages I cannot understand are tribal like khasi, south Indian languages, Kasnmiri, Ladakhi. I can understand Assamese, Bengali, Marathi.
The main difference is alphabet. So, I favor using Roman alphabet and numerals for all languages

Yes this is Gurudeb's sangeet which I have heard in so many voices, this time in Amitabh's voice. I heard a Kishor's song in Bengali in Durgapur first time.

It's not properly quoted! It should be "Jodi Kayu Daak Shunne tor na assee, Tabe Ekla Cholo rey"! Meaning if none responds to your call, Go it alone! It was Indira Gandhi's most favourite Rabindrasangeets.

My Bengali friends always laugh me out whenever I speak in Bangal. Although I never laugh back when they speak in so differently in Hindi or any other languages. I told u I am not good at Bengali, but can speak it, that too when must, in rural areas. I hope I will get a chance to talk to you in Bengali one day.

It's a very famous song of Gurudev and one needs to be cautious about correctness of quotations! It'd be a pleasure to have a chat in Bengali one day- I hope!

Chinmay da, This was only a song sung by Amitabh I heard last night on youtube. I have heard Rabindera Sangeet on different channels and in different voices. I am one of the great lover of Bengali culture, language and the way Bengali talk. You know so unlike we Punjabi.
