Khap Panchayats illegal- supreme Court

Supreme court has decided thatKhap Panchhayats are illegal.

Why are trhe Khap Panchayats illegal?. Obviously because these are not part of our constitutional frame work.

On this logic, how can group of individuals gathering at Jantar Mantar be given legitiimacy and allowed to be on committee for drafting Lok Pal Bill. If mab support is criteria, Khap Panchayats may claim more support from their respective communities.

Here the point for consideration is how far Hazare group is constitutionally competent to draft bill for Lok Pal sidetracking elected members of parliament.

    'Honor killings' by Khap Panchayat is what Supreme court considered barbaric and serious. Apex court also favours intercaste marriages. Khap Panchayat discourage and even punish intercast marriages and same Ghotra marriages.
