I know very little about. Vikrmai Samwat established by King Vikrmaditya (Chandergupt 2nd) after defeting shak in war. shak was a community of peoples at that time.

Happy New Year Anil...But when is it ? Here we celebrate it on two different days depending on the sun and the moon , and it is called Ugadi. This year it falls on the 8th of this month and 14th, which is always fixed .

New Year is observed on different days in different days in India. Ugadi and Gudi padwa is celebrated as New Year's day in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and Konkan. This year we celebrate Ugadi on April 8.

8th March, it is also first Navratra. Amenkar Jayanti is on 14th and Ramnavmi is on 15th. Here we celebrate new year on 8th.

Gudhi Padwa, Chetichand or New smawat, name is differ but celebration is same. We all celebrate and enjoy this day..
