What is a freelancing job, how to enter into it?

There are several freelancing sites which provide you work from home. I know a number of such sites but you can try upwork.com (not a referral), previously known as Odesk for a start. While on the topic let me add that they have strict tests and other procedures before accepting you as a member. Read the FAQ of the site carefully before joining.  

Well, most of the us are all doing some or other kind of freelancing jobs, writing articles, posting on blogs for money, doing surveys, doing various tasks, as mentioned by Sunil all comes under freelance work. Explore, read various blogs and you will know how it all works.

Odesk is altogether different from other freelancing sites as one can earn any thing from $0.50 to $50 per hour depending on their skills and expertise. The site lets you set your own rates (charges cut and tax from members). People with higher skills can earn as much or even higher from what they earn from offline jobs. 

I think if you have good contacts on facebook or any other social networking site that will be better if you get any big project then you can earn long time money do not think for small think bigger.

I had registered for odesk long ago but was unable to work there for personal reasons. I am thinking of going back and checking if it works. Do they still accept people from INdia?

Yes, Indian are eligible to register and work and you can still continue with your old registration. Ask for password if you have forgotten your password and search for jobs available. Pass as many tests as you can to increase our chances-

I have couple of tests to my credit- I did well at Odesk rules etc 5/5, US English 4.25/5 (top 30%) and as you know UK English is not my forte so I got 3.75/5 but that was still above average lol!

Can someone kindly mention names of the sites where we get upfront payment as soon as we submit an article? I mean sites just like boddunan. I know a few sites which pay depending on the popularity of the articles. Pay per view takes too much patience and we can hardly earn over there. It will be too helpful if someone can list such sites where upfront payment procedure is followed.
