Saudi Arabia is a large country that occupies almost the entire Arabian Peninsula. It is also the only country in the world named after a dynasty. Saudi Arabia is ruled by the Saudi dynasty, which is also supposed to be the guardian and the custodian of the two most Holy  Shrines in Islam, namely Mecca and Madina. Ever since the Saudi dynasty came into power, after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, they have held on to their rule by keeping people and masses enmeshed in obscurantism and beliefs that are no longer compatible with modern society and age. This insular form of Islam, that did not allow any modernization to take place led to discrimination against women whose actual status was just about that of an animal or pet. Sometimes the Arab men in Saudi Arabia preferred a camel as far as status is concerned to a woman. Oil and Saudi Arabia  Saudi Arabia was just living in a world of its own and extremist Muslims like the ISIS were against it. The Saudi dynasty, to perpetuate rule was holding onto old values and social norms that discriminated against women.. Saudi Arabia continued on this path smugly, simply because their entire economy was bankrolled by revenues from oil.  This was to change and now we know that oil is not something that can last for perpetuity and the Saudi have realized that there may come a time when oil may not sustain their economy.  Prince Salman One man who has come into power in Saudi Arabia is the Crown Prince Salman bin Saud. It will not be out of place to say that the rise of Prince Salman is the best thing that has happened to Saudi Arabia. The Prince noted that a country steeped in obscurantism cannot move forward and must have an alternate source of revenue. If Saudi Arabia has to move ahead the way of life has to change. An example is Dubai which has become the powerhouse of the world. It must be noted that Dubai has no oil as the last drop of oil dried up in 2016 and yet Dubai is the economic Powerhouse of the Middle East.  Prince Salman had a tough task because the massive royal family consisting of nearly 1000 members was like a parasite living on revenues of the state government. This had to stop and he has started stopping it. Moving forward Prince Salman has also realized that the state cannot in perpetuity continue to rely on labor from the subcontinent. To move forward it is important to have the local population to shoulder responsibility. It is imperative that women also join the workforce. This can only be done if the factors that bind the women down in Saudi Arabia are removed.  Prince Salman has set about removing these practices and doing away with retrograde policies that have held the country down for centuries. This is not an easy task but the prince is full of enthusiasm and he has gone about the modernization with a vengeance. His first step was in allowing the opening of 600 Cinemas in the country and allowing women to set up their own industry, drive a car, watch sports and also hold beauty contests. The world is changing Saudi Arabia and the prince has wished to emulate Dubai by making a similar resort cum business city on the Red Sea. Last word The task ahead is arduous as Iran the leader of the Shia Islamic movement is the great opponent of Saudi Arabia and confrontation between the two is on in Yemen, Syria, and Iraq. But prince Salman has started CHANGe and one hopes that elements that want a return to the old Saudi society are defeated. They are lurking and the biggest danger to the modernization of Saudi Arabia.

As a subaltern, I had the privilege of being posted in the Tamil Nadu state. To be precise, I was posted at the Air Force Station at Tambaram and the unit was Air Force flying Instructors School (AFIS). it was a baptism which I have never forgotten. To start by virtue of being a member of an elite service.I was immediately given the membership of the Madras Gymkhana., one of the premier clubs in  India established by the 'Goraji' during the days of the Raj. Getting into this elite Institute was like the opening Ali Baba's cave, it gives us the magical key to social intercourse with the elite of the city of Madras, the name Chennai came much later. I was not new to the state of Tamil Nadu as I have had my early education at the Stanes High School at Coimbatore.Later as Squadron leader, I had the privilege of attending the Defence Services Staff College in the Nilgiri mountains at Wellington close to the hill station of put Ootacammand. Relationships I observed another major social more, my flight commander and the CO of AFIS had both married Tamil girls. Later I came to know they were Brahmins. Obviously, they were very happy. This was my first brush with the social interaction where I observed that many Tamil girls were marrying North Indian Punjabi men or boys. This phenomenon is not confined to the film world, wherein right from the time of Vyjayanthimala to  Sridevi, not forgetting Hema Malini have married Punjabi men. One can say that there is some fetish for Tamil girls and Punjabi men. During almost two decades of my service in the Air Force, I have the distinction of observing this singular aspect where many officers had married Tamil girls. I will add that as far as the Airforce is concerned an equal number have married girls from Meghalaya, which has the  Eastern Air Command, at Shillong Talking about personal experience, I had the fortune or being introduced to some of the top echelon society girls. My facilitator was a local Tamil friend of mine who had studied with me at the  Stanes High school and was now a fairly big merchant involved in export-import in Madras. It is not important to take any name but I can add that this was the most relaxing time of my life. I had a senior colleague a Flying Officer and he confided that he was going to marry Tamil girl brahmin. I accepted to be his witness at the court marriage which subsequently took place. The girl's parents were against the match but later relented and give a big reception to their guests and relations. Now that so many decades have passed, I have been wondering as to what could be the reason that so many girls from Tamilnadu who come in contact with Punjabi men end up being their wives. Basically, I feel this is a good thing and a sign that such unions help the so-called north-south language divide to weaken. I think this an excellent recipe for national integration. I hope in the years to come, the question as to which state or which caste you belong to will go away. India would be one big Cauldron  like the USA Mutual attraction Just as Tamil girls are attracted to Punjabi men, so also North Indian Punjabis have a fascination for Tamil girls. There is a big language divide but this is overcome by the natural attraction that exists between these two classes in India. I wonder If sociologists can study this aspect of the relationships in India. As already mentioned there are also a lot of young Khasi girls from Meghalaya who marry  Air Force personnel while in the army Naga girls marry many army officers.  Most of these marriages endure and that is the best part of this entire scenario. My personal memories have been the subject of many of my stories which have been published abroad and in India, I will just say that there seems to be a mutual attraction between Tamil girls and Punjabi men. Why should it be there is a question that is not worth answering and one can only say India has a nation has to move forward. Closer home my nephew just had a love marriage with a Tamil girl who a student from the IIT at Madras.  This is just a light heart article, and I hope many will read it with an open mind.

The film "Dunkirk" hit the screen last year. It was immediately hailed as a tribute to the British Soldier and a faithful representation of a true incident during World War II. The film depicts that when facing the onslaught of the German Army, evacuated from Dunkirk in the faceoff heavy adversity. Bollywood acts  I have been wondering why Bollywood could not make a similar film on the glory of the Indian Army. This has now happened and a film starring Dilip Dosanjh will hit the screen this year. Though it has not been specified, yet it is understood that the film is a true story based on the life of major general Sajjan Singh Rangroot.  He was a Sikh who was the ruler of the state of Ratlam. He joined the British Indian Army and rose to the rank of major general. He died in 1947. Sajjan Singh Rangroot was a classical individual and embodies the very best of military tradition. The film also is a tribute to the Sikh holders who gave their all for the British Empire and King. It is an account of the battle these Sikh soldiers fought along with the British soldiers against Germany during World War 1 Glory of Sikh soldiers The producer of the film has done a great service to the soldiers of the Indian Army. During the days of the  Raj this was known as the British Indian Army and was mostly officered  by English and Scottish officers. Many of them in subsequent memoirs have testified to the glory of the Sikh as soldiers. I have no hesitation in stating that the Sikh soldiers cannot be compared to any clan, cast, or creed in India. They are in fact the finest embodiment of military chivalry Sajjan Singh Rangroot was born in 1880 and educated at the Daly College Indore and the Mayo College Ajmer.  In 1897 he was made the ruler of Ratlam state and also joint the British army. He was promoted a lieutenant colonel during World War 1 and this film is an account of his life at that time. The film brings out the emotional wrenching that took place in the winds of the Sikh soldiers who fought for the Crown and wondered whether the blood they would shed would bring freedom for India. This is one of the glories of Sikh history    The role of Sajjan Singh is played by Dilip Dosanjh.  I have seen the trailer and can say without any hesitation that he has given a glorious performance. He is an intense actor and he leaves his imprint in the film. There is another magnificent role played by Yograj Singh as a Subedar Major who motivates the soldiers to fight. This is this one role which cannot be forgotten. The film brings out how the British soldiers initially look down on the Sikh soldiers. The Sikhs overcome this by sheer bravery and finally battle the Germans and beat them. But it should also not be forgotten that in the battle in the Middle East the Sikhs under command of general Allenby broke the back of the Turkish Army. The collapse of the Ottoman Empire is entirely the handiwork of the British soldiers, in reality, the Indian Army.  WWI and Congress  World War 1 is a watershed in world history.  The Indian Army fought for the king against Central Powers led by Germany. Their contribution has never been given their due as the political policy of the Congress Party was not to honor Sikh Soldiers. It was only when Narendra Modi took over as the Prime Minister of India he visited the cemetery of Indian soldiers who died in battle fighting the Germans in France and Italy. This glorious chapter  of Sikh history with the Indian Indian Army has not been told and it is to the credit of the film on the life of major general Sajjan Singh Rangroot that it will be brought to the knowledge of the millions of Indians who do not know their own heritage and culture Last word The film when released will be in Punjabi. But to a committed Student of the film history, a man  will be able to relish the glory of the film and the greater glory of Sikh soldiers who form a significant portion of India's population

Azim Premji Education Foundation I am sure that all of you have heard about Azim Premji, full name Azim Hashim Premji the founder and Chairman of Wipro which is a software giant of Indian IT industry. Azim Premji is not only a businessman but investor and a person who seeks to promote for the welfare of others, especially by the generous donation of money to good causes. In fact Azim Premji is known as much for social welfare as much for his business activities.  Azim Premji has been among the top money donator in the world for last three years leaving and, Nandan Nilekani and N. R. Narayana Murthy and all others far too behind. I have reasons to call him one of the biggest philanthropists in the world as he has donated Indian Rupees 450 billion plus (More than US$7.5 billion) for the cause of education. The amount he has spent for the cause of education is not the highest spent by an entrepreneur but he stands in 5th position among the world’s philanthropists’ list.  One of the largest education providers Incidentally, he is providing higher education to thousands of brilliant students every year providing them financial support.  I must mention at this point that Azim Premji foundation is an organization working in the field of education in 8 Indian states having a large number of schools. I have been following Azim Premji for last eighteen years and found that he tries to put his thoughts into his real actions and the result is here for anyone to see. Besides managing such a huge number of schools Premji foundation offers scholarships in different field of higher education under his scheme “earn while you learn” that offers job to fresh graduates studying via distant education institutes.  Fifth in the world The fact that Azim Premji with $7.5 billion is far behind Mark Zuckerberg who gave away $46 billion which is almost 99% of his total income as Facebook shares which is way higher in philanthropic activity but Azim Premji is at the top donator in educational field India. Incidentally founder of Infosys is among the top contributors with Narayn Murthy of Infosys, Tatas and Birlas etc.  I looked at all donators anywhere in the world for their noble cause whether they are industrialists or individuals who donate/collect money by different means for the sake of helping the needy or deserving persons achieving their goals and found that almost all famous industrialists contribute for the cause of education. However, if we look at the fact that his net worth is close to $20 billion, the amount he spends for the cause of education is really praiseworthy.

The Growth Story of India Most of the developed world thinks that India is a backward country and you can find comments to such effect spread all over the internet.  But the fact is India is one of the largest markets of consumer products in the world especially in electronics field. Indian growth rate in consumer electronic is constantly growing at a brisk pace and will remain so until next decade or so. I will use financial terms in American dollars for the benefit of readers that India is all set to reach $20 billion target annually within a very short time in consumer electronic consumer sector. According to Consumer Electronic & Appliances Market Association (CEAMA) the apex Industry Chamber for the Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances Industry of India, consumer electronics sector in India is growing at a rapid rate and it will remain the same during next decade.  There is no denying the fact that India did not do well in the first 2 decades after independence especially in electronics sector but its entire information source was limited to radio transmission but the story today is altogether different especially after liberalization of Indian economy in eighties. The Indian market today is full of consumer electronic items including costly mobile phones, cameras, television sets, refrigerators, air conditioners, computers etc.  The turning point Actually the entire revolution in electronics sector in India had started in 1965 itself but it was in initial stage. India did not start its television until 1959 that was limited to few cities but it spread considerably in seventies when it spread in several metro cities. The Asian games held in 1982 changed the entire scenario of TV viewing in India although we were still dependent on imported TV sets. Same was the story in refrigerator industry as we did not have a refrigerator manufacturing unit until Kelvinator came to India in 1960. Today we have all the popular brands manufacturing their products in India and exporting to other countries. Today, the Indians are the largest buyers of mobile phones, refrigerators, cameras, TV sets, air conditioners, cars, washing machines and computers. India is attracting investment in manufacturing sector from all over the world. In fact super powers are trying their best for entering into Indian markets. India imports millions of mobile handsets today but the recently introduced program “Make in India” by our Prime Minister is gaining momentum and we shall soon be self sufficient in hardware sector and you all know it well that we are already undisputed kings of software sector.

English literature never had it so good as in the present age. Larissa Lone is an American writer who has tapped the demand of the reading public for books with paranormal heroes and heroines. She is a nomad in a way; she is married to a Coast Guard official and moves along with him. This perhaps lends variety to her work. She also publishes books with Stephanie Tyler under the pen name of Sydney Croft. A paranormal novel Larissa’s book “Lethal Rider" is a book with paranormal characters. It is the third book in the Lords of Deliverance series. Lone creates a world that is imaginary and ephemeral. It is a book that has a simple story and the writer makes a pretence of being a crusader on any subject. The story is likely to appeal to readers who love the genre of books with the subject of paranormal love and deeds. Story Plot The Lords of Deliverance are four siblings who stand between the agents of Hell and the world. They are the ones who have the power to avert the coming doomsday planned by the exponents of hell. “Lethal Rider” centers on the character Thanatos. He is the most powerful and lethal of the horsemen. Thanatos is a man with a mission. He is ageless, having lived for thousands of years. His one aim has always been to save the earth from the agents of hell. Thanatos has another vow which he has kept all these centuries. He is celibate and no woman has been touched by him. All resolves are shattered as Larissa Lone creates an erotic seduction of Thanatos by the beautiful and sexy Aegis Guardian, Regan Cooper. She is also wicked and Thanatos succumbs to desire. He breaks his thousand-year-old oath to celibacy. Larissa Lone creates passion in the pages and that acts as an impetus for the reader. Thanatos is unaware as to the reason for his seduction. He learns that one sexual fling has resulted in Regan Cooper conceiving a child by him. He realizes that he has planted his seed in the woman at that time and now he will become a father. Discussion There is a rage in the makeup of Thanatos, but a tremendous desire for the mother of his child as well. Larissa Lone deserves credit for creating some of the most riveting chapters of steamy love. Thanatos is now faced with a dilemma. He must save the world and he has to make a choice whether he is to sacrifice his love and his child to save the world. Larissa Lone has a fertile imagination and she uses it to good effect in creating a tale of supernatural love and the danger from the minions from Hell. She deserves credit for creating a story that is thrilling and engrossing. Book lovers will love it. Verdict  It’s a book that is sure to engross readers. Larissa Lone is a gifted writer who started writing at the age of 13. She has led a chequered life, having served in the Air Force as a meteorologist. Later, she also tried her hand as a dog trainer. She is happily married and has one son who is 13 years old. She resides in Wisconsin at present. I had the pleasure of meeting Larissa at a book launch in New York last year where my novel "Romance of the Frontier" was also showcased. It was a memorable meeting and she presented me with a copy of her novel.

Let's do something worthwhile  Humans are not animals although their fast increasing population is worrisome. So let’s do something to learn that will keep us busy and interested in life. Be a little considerate and try to understand why we fail to learn something new. There is a very simple reason behind that which we know but don’t want to accept that. Actually we all have that in us but we are too lazy to apply that for practical purposes. Sometimes we are either too lazy or in trying to preserve our energy we do not want to do anything unless must, but that is not the way you can expect something new in your life. The life will be nothing but a routine if we don’t do something to become monotonous.  I will quote motivational speaker Robin S. Sharma, a great author and the writer of “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari”. Those who are not willing to learn something new become older sooner than they should. The ones willing to learn something certainly add “Possibilities” in their lives and the last thing that people who have no will to learn feel older than they really are.   “We are all here for some special reason. Stop being a prisoner of your past. Become the architect of your future.” - Robin S. Sharma     What is important now, is it the willingness to WIN? Okay but then you will have to do whatever you’re doing right now is important and if it’s not, there is no use doing it. Do not leave a job unless you have finished it. Finish, this is also applicable to whatever you’re doing at any given time has its importance. If you are at work, just be there. It’s important to be there unless the job is fully done. Finally, learning something new is indicative of progress, the betterment in life. The people who keep learning something new feel happier inside. Learning something new is sign of acceptance. Read “The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching: Transforming Suffering into Peace, Joy, and Liberation” by Vietnamese Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh.  He says we live in ‘past’ and when we hear something new we first compare it with our own thoughts if they fit with our own self-set rules we find them okay otherwise we reject them and refuse to learn anything new.  Now it is up to you whether you want to improve yourselves or stay the same.

A decision is made One week later after many discussions, arguments and deliberations with my family, I decided to go to Akashdeep estates and live there for some time but on the condition that I was free to come home if and when I wanted. Sunita, my sister called and went on and on about my attitude in not agreeing immediately because the money would help and I was being selfish not caring for the family. I simply told her to think back on her own contribution in making the family so dependent on other financial sources for survival and slammed the phone down. Finally, after a tearful goodbye, I and Mahesh anna were on our way to Akashdeep estates. I left with mixed feelings, both sad and expectant. But all things considered I knew that my going there would make my family much more comfortable and as far as I was concerned I was ready to face Shalu and her mood changes, in fact had decided to take it up as a challenge. All through the 4 hour drive, that took us on steep roads winding in and out of the mountain range, I concentrated on filling my eyes and mind with the glory of nature that lay before us. The mountains, streams, forest and the many waterfalls ...honestly, I was mesmerised and Mahesh anna being familiar with every inch of the region, kept pointing out and speaking about the many places of interest that came our way. We made a quick stop at a small way side tea stall, sat on the benches there and had tea and some biscuits. When it was nearing dusk, we left the highway and took a smaller road that climbed steeply up and Mahesh anna pointed  to a hill and to a bright light that looked almost like a twinkling star and said that was Akashdeep estate. He said that the bright light was installed by his father, which had become  a landmark to the locals and helped those who lose their way on the curvy roads covering the mountains at night. Soon we had reached the final bend that put us on the narrow road leading to the estates. At Akashdeep estates Just before turning into the wide gates Mahesh anna slowed down the car and lifted his hand in greeting to someone walking on the side. I turned back and saw a very handsome and  athletic young man dressed casually in shorts, sweat shirt and sports shoes, waving and smiling at Mahesh anna and at the same time looking at me with open curiosity.. We turned into the estate gates and I looked at Mahesh anna and what I saw surprised me. Mahesh anna had an angry look on his face and looked very disturbed and I wondered what the cause was? Was it because of our encounter with the handsome young man? who was he by the way? and if he was the reason, why?  However, I was favorably impressed by the strangers smile and an open friendly manner. Anyway, by then we had reached the house and Rohini aunt was standing at the front door along with another lady and a man. They came down the steps and Rohini aunt hugged me and greeted me with affection. The couple, I came to know were the maid and the driver who lived in the outhouse behind the main house. Nanjappa, the driver brought out my suitcase and a bag and took it into the hall and we followed him. To say that I was quite impressed by the house would be an understatement. It was magnificent, with beautifully carved teak and rosewood furniture  fitted with brass and lots of artifacts, tastefully distributed around the room and large vases filled with beautiful flowers. There was a wide staircase leading up and that’s where Nanjappa was taking my bags. Rohini aunt asked me to follow her, so that she could show me my room. The staircase bifurcated  midway and we took the left side which led to  a passage and two rooms that were located on either side. Rohini aunt took me to the one from which Nanjappa emerged after having deposited my belongings there. He smiled and nodded at me and went down the stairs. The room we entered was very comfortable with a single bed, a table and two chairs, a large  wooden wardrobe and a dressing table. There were wide windows now covered with curtains. Rohini aunt said that she occupied the other room and there was a bathroom in between the two rooms. She told me to freshen up and come down for dinner. Meeting Shalini With all this happening, there was absolutely no sign of my cousin Shalini and I very much wondered about her. However, I washed my face and hands, ran a comb through my unruly hair and went down. Next to the large hall was the dining room which was an extension of the sitting room/hall and the Kitchen leading from the dining area, which was large and well equipped with all the gadgets. Nanjappa’s wife Geeta was making chapatis and she smiled at me and asked me about my own likes and dislikes regarding food and so on. It was very pleasant talking to her and watching her dish out the food with an expert hand. I helped her carry the dishes to the table… We, Mahesh anna, Rohini aunt and myself ate the beautifully cooked tasty dinner. I came to know that Arvind, Rohini aunt's son was away on some work but no one spoke of Shalini. But, when we had finished our dinner and went out to the hall, she was there, sitting on one of the sofas looking like a ghost !!! I am probably exaggerating but that’s the feeling I got when I saw her. She sat there looking white and pale so unlike her normal colorful self. When I called her name she suddenly turned looking shocked as if she was rudely awakened from a trance. She really was a pitiful sight and I felt sorry for her. I sat next to her and asked her how she was and she simply nodded her head  without saying anything but looking here and there, her eyes darting everywhere . When I asked her if she had had her dinner she again nodded and sat fidgeting with her hands again looking around her. I was shocked and totally perplexed by her behavior. Rohini aunt and Mahesh anna sat watching us with anxious faces. Later Mahesh anna led Shalini up the wide stairs and took the stairs leading to the right wing where they had their bedroom. Soon after Geeta and Nanjappa left for their quarters, Rohini aunt and I too went up to our respective rooms. As I changed and lay on my bed I felt both excited and numb thinking about the long eventful day , the brief encounter with the handsome stranger , the evening at the estate home and about Shalini. After meeting her, I also felt guilty about my own uncharitable thoughts about her.  ( To be continued )

Hoover has charted an excellent path in choppy waters. This is a great encoragement to a writer and  her success is very important.  In India there are so many budding writers and they could follow teh example of Ms Hoover.

How to balance our life? There was a time when people were taught about the virtues of being polite. And the best example was that the tree which is full of fruits will bend towards the ground. Here the fruits were symbol of good virtues man posses. But the question looms large in my mind just how many of us care to remember what was taught to us about good behavior in our childhood! Have you noticed how man has started to feel that he is the only one that is responsible for running this entire world or his company will fail if he will be out of it? Maybe you are an important person for your company but trust me nothing will stop even if you will not be there We have seen people checking their phone every few minutes but why are you so worried about all the updates or feel bad when others give importance to others? Why do you feel in secured if people talk about others’ success stories or feel irritated when they talk positively about others’ achievements?  The situation comes when we spend all our time thinking about our life and forget all about living our life in a delightful manner. That’s nothing but giving a little extra respect to ourselves which invariably results in feeling of uncomfortable situation in the end.  Let me ask a simple question at this point, have you ever tried spending a few moments sitting in a park, or at a river bank. Or maybe if you live near the sea shore have you ever spent some time on the beach away from the crowd doing nothing but just keeping your eyes closed with nothing in your mind? I suggest you go through this experience for once and see the difference.           And the other point that tells us what we should do to balance ourselves for setting our own rules. That is kind of self-balancing that provides us certain important guidelines about hard-work, cleanliness, self-satisfaction and self analysis etc.  I will try my best to achieve my target for the day. Logical and Illogical Some of us in trying to prove our point of view logical find ways that have no logics. Now, what is logic and who invents them? Logic is something that shows your understanding something with valid reasons and effect and you can say science and Math are some of the examples which show your logic. As we know for sure that Science and Math provide proven facts and solutions of all the problems they deal with although there are chances that further studies may change the facts but you can only consider it as my logic into the matter.   But if we talk about illogicalities, that is nothing but to assert to be untrue or by saying the things in opposition of what the facts are. Illogical in itself contradicts the facts or beliefs which have already established firmly. However, logic and illogical is a matter of great discussion which is going on ever since the very existence of this world and also considered a great weapon of self defense. However it's better to monitor all the points in question very carefully instead of speaking casually about anything without any reasoning. There is no alternate of reaching to a decision unless you agree to logic. It’s also a proven fact that even during our normal discussions we experience logic is always being contradicted with falls facts. The discussion is way of understanding points of different persons but it loses it meaning if illogical views take over the reasoning and the situation turns out to be a tensed battle of words. As they say, it’s hard to cope with opposite views and especially so when there is no logic in the views as they find a new definition for illogical views to prove their point. Unless we have the power of molding our views and accept the truth which needs lot of courage and self confidence, the chances of reaching to a right decision are remote.   I wish I could help everyone We all want to do better in our life but that should not be our only aim. You might laugh hearing me but I wish when I leave this world it’s a better society. And a better society for me is the one where people love each other. I always wanted to help everyone in my circle because that was my limit. I wish I could help everyone. But is that as simple as it sounds? I am not ashamed to say we are running a blind race where each of us wants to beat everyone else. Perhaps they call it rat race where everyone is in a hurry to bypass someone in front of himself. Gone are the days when people wanted to help others at the risk of losing their own battle. Did you read the story of great Sailor Lawrence Lemieux from Canada who stopped to help his competitor who was in danger of drowning midway during his Olympic race at 1988 Olympic boat race? He could have won the race easily but he did not proceed unless he saved the crew of boat in danger. He did not win the race but he won the heart of everyone. The day we learn the art of living for others, we shall change the world. Our own life will be far better compared to our own expectations. I can only say that goodness is part of all of us and if you practice it in your real life helping others, keeping them happy, being grateful if someone else helps you during your difficult times, you will see marked changes in yourself. How you behave with others during their difficult moments is what shows your real self, your character. You know it's not easy to think the right solutions during troublesome times. But if you can help someone during his difficult times you will feel proud of your own self.

Introduction Pakistan is the obverse side of India. It is the second side of the coin. If India was heads Pakistan would be tails. Both countries are of the same racial stock and have by and large have the same ethos and culture but over the decades Pakistan which was conceived as a homeland for Muslims of the sub-continent has degenerated into a nation where obscurantism and blind religious belief is the byword. The dream of the founder of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah is in a way consigned to the flames. As things stand now, Pakistan Is represented by the Mullah and the gun. The Mullah represent Islamic obscurantism while the gun represents the Army. All social and political acts take place within the Ambit of these two parameters. The Pakistan film Censor Board is one entity which again works within these parameters. Film censor board   The degeneration of everyday life in Pakistan has now come to the fore with the banning of the film "Padman" by the Pakistan Film Censor Board. The film has been banned on the ground that it violates the principles of Islam. In other words, the  Censor Board has come out with the statement that the film is against "Islamic values". Nobody has specified what those Islamic values are but the result is that an excellent movie concerning hygiene and sanitation of women has been banned. As I have already written Pakistan is similar to India in culture and ethos. The fact remains that women in Pakistan, like in India, to the tune of 80% in the rural area rarely used sanitary pads. This fact cannot be brushed under the carpet. It has nothing to do with Islamic values, yet a film on this subject has been banned in Pakistan on the ground that it is against Islamic values. If the matter was not that serious one would die laughing on the bed of nails but people in Pakistan must ask a question as to why the film is banned. The  film "Padman" stars Akshay Kumar and the film is doing very good business in India. Even abroad people have appreciated the film for highlighting social ills in society on the Indian subcontinent. Women and men in India needed education on a matter which is of great importance. The film is based on a true-life story of a man in Coimbatore, who conceived of an idea of cheap sanitary pads and started manufacturing them. Akshay Kumar has done a wonderful role and deserves credit for it. He is one star who has attacked the social mores on the Indian subcontinent, like lack of toilet facilities in the film " toilet" with elan and fervor. I cannot think of the three Khans making such a film  Many in Pakistan are now even calling for a ban on the film Padmavat on the grounds that it portrays Muslims in poor light as the character as portrayed  on the screen by Ranveer Singh of the Sultan Alauddin is not to the liking of Muslims, So much so, that in a relatively free country like Malaysia, the film Padmavat has been banned Mulla lobby The banning of the film pad man in Pakistan is a matter of regret and shows that Pakistan is indeed part of the axis of Evil. This was the term used by Ronald Regan. One wonders how far such acts will go on. Looks like the obscure Mullah lobby is dominating the scene. Poor Jinnah will be turning in his grave. A point to ponder is that the film has been released in other Muslim nations like the UAE. Are they less devout than Pak Muslims? Pak must look inwards and exorcise the ghost of backwardness, mullah, and obscurantism

Today's scenario, Indian Education is more costly for parents and burdensome of students. Moreover, It is irrelevant. I would like to discussed major drawback of Indian education system. 1. Burdensome Lengthy Syllabus From primary school to high-school, Most of students are passing their time to complete their homework. He has passed almost half a day at school and rest of half day with tuition classes to complete homework. Each subjects are very lengthy divided into many chapters. However, really too much general knowledge is required. The detailed syllabus of social studies, geography, Hindi, regional language is essential to develop  personality in kids/teenagers. Or without lack of such knowledge, students are not fit for future jobs. The answer is No. In real word, no one is asking for length of Nile river or what is the capital of Canada. Such unnecessary detailed syllabus creates stress, hampers creativity and spoil childhood of students. 2. One Evaluation criteria is fit for All. It is illogical or ridiculous to conduct a race between elephant, deer and ant. All three animals are created by God and having different abilities. Board exams are rather than evaluation of memorizing skills of students rather than perceived knowledge. 3. Education is irrelevant to job market  After completing B.com, B.C.A. etc., to get a job is a tough task. It is also a great challenge for employer to recruit such educated people who are lacking in basic skills such as analysis, problem solving, communication etc. Even topper students are quite inadequate at such generic skills. 4.Teacher are also inefficient Teachers are also not efficient and unconcerned about well-development of students. They are concerned with only their subjects. 5. Reservation a Dragon for Indian Society In each school, patriotism is taught by the teachers. However, such learning is squashed in front of reservation wall. When merits are not working, then students are starting to recognize the dragon of Reservation and rebuild their learning.  Tips to Avoid such drawback in individual capacity 1. Parents should understood that schools are not only the option for development of his child. They are equally and as per my view, more responsible for development of their child. Parents should understand futility of formal education irrespective of level/ brand of school. 2. Parents should not put his own child in lemmings race. They should encourage creativity, analytical skills in their child. I am not saying formal education is not necessary, but Parents should not over stress about results or comments of teachers. It creates stress, mind blocks in early age of child. Parents should understand 90% is not a criteria to prove one student is a more intelligent than other student.

Try something new in your routine life Don’t we all feel dull, tedious and repetitious or something lacking in variety and interest of our life at sometime or the other?  Isn’t it the same routine job, the same people, the same discussions and same people? I feel it too boring especially on certain places when I see people repeating the same or ranting about the same what they were doing yesterday. Then what should we do for getting something new in our routine life or would it be worth or the same time pass kind of change which will again become dull after a few days. These are some common questions we all face but never try to do something which will keep us busy or do something that will engage in interesting activities.  There are ways one can come out of his boredom or find renewed interest in his life. Like when I see a woman trying to ride a bicycle with the help of his 15 years old son just for the sake of doing something new or watch a man of 50 learning to swim with the help of a boy 30 years younger. I love that when I see someone doing something for the first time and then the matter is certainly not limited to the adventure part of the learning a new activity but it is all about a person was trying to do something new to keep his life interesting.  And bringing something new is not limited to learning something new but there are so many other things you can try to bring “Newness’ to your life. For instance, change your daily rout to your office if possible and try a new one and see the difference.  Try meeting an old friend you haven’t met for ages or just close the door of your bedroom and dance to the tune of your favorite music until you drop on to your bed totally tired and feel the difference. There are so many ways you can try for bringing something new to your routine life.  Teamwork is must for a great project    As a marketing professional I have always believed in a team work and sought advice of even the most junior member of the team. I think it motivates everyone to even better than they are actually capable off. I have heard seniors talking to their juniors in a rude way and losing their respect and demoralizing some of the enthusiasm of the workers otherwise having or showing intense and eager enjoyment, interest, only if their seniors showed their approval.   Here are few phrases which will certainly make you an unpopular leader besides your project having lesser chances of being as successful as you expected- 1- Come on man you should do as much as you were told to do! 2- Who asked you for your suggestion?  3- We are not working on your suggestions!  4- Open your mouth when we ask you for something! 5- Come, sit on my chair and guide me! I have heard such remarks from various project managers and departmental heads in my long corporate career and always found them derogatory and demoralizing for the persons on the receiving ends and some of them who received such comments even quit the job and joined companies which had respect for their suggestions.  Actually most of us know the importance of team building is all about giving proper responsibility to everyone but some of the higher ranked bosses forget it and suffer at multiple levels. They not only lose personally but their companies suffer for their egoistic behavior. We should not forget a simple fact that no one however lower in rank does not like taking orders.  The best in the field of management know that sarcasm and rudeness is the last thing a worker wants so they have invented a formula of how to get best out of their juniors. They ask for their suggestions and give them proper importance during team meetings. They ask questions from them and encourage them for their good suggestions.  Positive mindset The people with positive mindset always think in a positive way. The specialty of all such people is that they look at their own faults instead of finding faults in others. They always think in terms of ‘self-improvement’ and not in terms of teaching others about the importance of good ethics. You know a person with optimistic mind always look at the positive sides of things. I can give you a simple example of looking at things with a positive frame of mind here. Generally a person reacts in a negative way when his car or two wheeler stops on the way or his wristwatch stops showing right time but a positive persona would always say good time he had with his car or wristwatch in place of saying bad things about that.  A person has two ways of thinking he thinks either in a positive way or in a negative way and it tells all about how that person leads his life. Both these way of thinking have their own effects on a person’s life but a positive person always pass on good feeling to others that come in his contact and I don’t think I should say anything how a negative person makes you feel.        A person with positive thinking provides motivation to others and gives new hopes by doing things cheerfully. I feel motivated when I sit with my marketing director because he never speaks a world that makes you feel negative. He says, “If you can manage to keep your mindset positive you should have no doubt that you’re not far off from your target”. He started this business in 1996 just after obtaining his masters in business management and even after running a company for almost 20 years he is willing to learn new ideas. He says people might consider him a successful businessperson but in fact he is as much willing to learn as he was 20 years before. In his own words, “As long your mindset is positive and you are willing to learn there is nothing that would stop you”.
