Try something new in your routine life
Don’t we all feel dull, tedious and repetitious or something lacking in variety and interest of our life at sometime or the other? Isn’t it the same routine job, the same people, the same discussions and same people? I feel it too boring especially on certain places when I see people repeating the same or ranting about the same what they were doing yesterday.
Then what should we do for getting something new in our routine life or would it be worth or the same time pass kind of change which will again become dull after a few days. These are some common questions we all face but never try to do something which will keep us busy or do something that will engage in interesting activities.
There are ways one can come out of his boredom or find renewed interest in his life. Like when I see a woman trying to ride a bicycle with the help of his 15 years old son just for the sake of doing something new or watch a man of 50 learning to swim with the help of a boy 30 years younger.
I love that when I see someone doing something for the first time and then the matter is certainly not limited to the adventure part of the learning a new activity but it is all about a person was trying to do something new to keep his life interesting.
And bringing something new is not limited to learning something new but there are so many other things you can try to bring “Newness’ to your life. For instance, change your daily rout to your office if possible and try a new one and see the difference.
Try meeting an old friend you haven’t met for ages or just close the door of your bedroom and dance to the tune of your favorite music until you drop on to your bed totally tired and feel the difference. There are so many ways you can try for bringing something new to your routine life.
Teamwork is must for a great project
As a marketing professional I have always believed in a team work and sought advice of even the most junior member of the team. I think it motivates everyone to even better than they are actually capable off. I have heard seniors talking to their juniors in a rude way and losing their respect and demoralizing some of the enthusiasm of the workers otherwise having or showing intense and eager enjoyment, interest, only if their seniors showed their approval.
Here are few phrases which will certainly make you an unpopular leader besides your project having lesser chances of being as successful as you expected-
1- Come on man you should do as much as you were told to do!
2- Who asked you for your suggestion?
3- We are not working on your suggestions!
4- Open your mouth when we ask you for something!
5- Come, sit on my chair and guide me!
I have heard such remarks from various project managers and departmental heads in my long corporate career and always found them derogatory and demoralizing for the persons on the receiving ends and some of them who received such comments even quit the job and joined companies which had respect for their suggestions.
Actually most of us know the importance of team building is all about giving proper responsibility to everyone but some of the higher ranked bosses forget it and suffer at multiple levels. They not only lose personally but their companies suffer for their egoistic behavior. We should not forget a simple fact that no one however lower in rank does not like taking orders.
The best in the field of management know that sarcasm and rudeness is the last thing a worker wants so they have invented a formula of how to get best out of their juniors. They ask for their suggestions and give them proper importance during team meetings. They ask questions from them and encourage them for their good suggestions.
Positive mindset
The people with positive mindset always think in a positive way. The specialty of all such people is that they look at their own faults instead of finding faults in others. They always think in terms of ‘self-improvement’ and not in terms of teaching others about the importance of good ethics. You know a person with optimistic mind always look at the positive sides of things.
I can give you a simple example of looking at things with a positive frame of mind here. Generally a person reacts in a negative way when his car or two wheeler stops on the way or his wristwatch stops showing right time but a positive persona would always say good time he had with his car or wristwatch in place of saying bad things about that.
A person has two ways of thinking he thinks either in a positive way or in a negative way and it tells all about how that person leads his life. Both these way of thinking have their own effects on a person’s life but a positive person always pass on good feeling to others that come in his contact and I don’t think I should say anything how a negative person makes you feel.
A person with positive thinking provides motivation to others and gives new hopes by doing things cheerfully. I feel motivated when I sit with my marketing director because he never speaks a world that makes you feel negative. He says, “If you can manage to keep your mindset positive you should have no doubt that you’re not far off from your target”.
He started this business in 1996 just after obtaining his masters in business management and even after running a company for almost 20 years he is willing to learn new ideas. He says people might consider him a successful businessperson but in fact he is as much willing to learn as he was 20 years before. In his own words, “As long your mindset is positive and you are willing to learn there is nothing that would stop you”.
