Your child loves to play with toys
Every child loves his toys and plays with toys available to him but according to his age, therefore you should keep your child’s age, mental and his physical status in mind while purchasing a toy for him. Because children do not simply play with any toy but the ones which they find comfortable or matching their satisfaction level.
Most of us make it a point to buy toys whenever we visit and find toys available in the market but this too is a fact that most of us do not know the exact need of your child, which are different for different children. Toys are not meant for entertainment purpose only but these teach your children different skills as well therefore the need to select their toys as per their specific needs to satisfy them. Look here for the points those may help finding a right toy for your child-
Age is prime factor
Most people do not think that a particular child needs a toy according to his age or mental level; suppose you give a walker to two years old how do you think it would help him or how should he utilize it! You should purchase a toy only keeping his needs in mind but not buy toys, which may not serve any purpose but just an unnecessary collection. You should purchase toys those help develop his hobbies and skills but according to his age.
Toys for one year olds
Children in this age love toys, which make sounds so toys, which they can grab and make sound or play musical sounds, soft toys like dog, cat, monkey etc, would make them happy. You can buy a musical chime for his cradle or toughened looking mirror not breakable easily which children love to watch or toys, which your child prefers to play with.
Toys for two to three years olds
Children in this age group begin to understand many things and are most curious about different items so buying books with bold letters, balls, big pictorial books, toys made of wood and plastic, blocks those used for making different items, toys which can move, tricycle, toy car that a child can paddle and steer. Girls prefer to play with kitchen sets.
Toys for four to five years olds
This is most crucial stage for children because they commence going to school and learn lot of things in this age therefore toys should also be matching for them. They would love to play with toys dealing with riddles, drawing books and color pencils, house making blocks, bat& ball, toy guns, electronic toys and clay that takes shape as per child’s imagination. If you want to make your child a rough &tough one buy him a small ladder, kids love to climb and jump.
Toys for six to eight years olds
Children in this particular age love to play outdoors therefore a badminton racket or real cricket bat & ball, football a cycle would serve his purpose better. You can give him a carom board or chess as well. This is the age when children want to play video games read story books a binocular, electronic car or a guitar would serve him right. Girls too love to play with these same toys but with a feminine touch although some of the girls love to play with same toys as boys do.
Toys for nine years olds or bigger
Children in this age group like to play with toys which keeps them physically active therefore a jumping rope, basketball, board games, tennis racket, a geared cycle, video games, real badminton rackets and shuttle cocks and artificial jewelry for girls because they too like to look like bigger than their actual age. However this age is just right for children to express their own desire in certain manner, you only have to provide them as per their needs.
Other crucial points before you buy toys
- Children love to play with multi colored toys so make sure that you buy toys, which have different gaudy colors, these would keep children interested for longer periods.
- Buy toys played in groups, these teach your children to coexist in groups, good for their mentality.
- Be careful that toys do not turn your children into self-centered or introvert, some times toys make them sit alone and they do not like to mix up with others freely.
- Provide them with games those sharpen their skills. Games like puzzles, clay and box help them in this respect.
- Make sure that the material of the toys is not harmful for your child, same goes for their colors.
- Toys should not have sharp ends, which may harm them.
- The last but not the least, always keep a close watch on cost of the toys in mind because most toys do not long for long time so there is no use wasting money on show business.
Finally you should see the utility
There is no doubt that children love to play with different toys but they fast loose interest in a particular toy and look for another one so there is no need to spend too much on any particular toy. Children like change, as they cannot stick to any one hobby for long time. Maybe when they grow up they find some toys more interesting than other toys and they want to stay with them for longer durations therefore it is wise to go for wide but cheap variety however the quality should not be subject of compromise. I am sure you would help your child grow developing good habits by playing with toys therefore this is good to provide him toys which help him doing so.
Bigger children love to keep their skates, rackets etc for long time therefore the quality should be your preference but not its price. Even if you think that money is not a problem for you to spend for the sake of your child's hobby this is not advisable to spend unnecessarily but the more important is to look for the exact needs of your child and his hobbies besides the way he sticks to his hobbies.
