Wind
We know that air moves from high pressure zone to low pressure zone thus giving rise to wind.
Why does wind blows in a breeze form i.e. it blows for sometime then stops and again starts? Why does not it blow continuously?
Is there a rapid appearance and disappearance of the pressure gradient which is responsible for the breeze? If it is so, then what is the reason behind it.
Why do you feel that, wind does not blow continuously? If that is what you just feel, you better give it a second thought. If you look at an anemometer, one would hardly find it stationary.
Assuming, what you say is right, i.e. at times wind is not blowing at all, the possible reason can be, and the region might be at high pressure at that time. But, I believe, at any given time, there is always some pressure variation between regions, so we can almost always expect wind to be blowing, even if we don’t feel it.
Its right that air is blowing continuously. it’s not stationary. But we don’t appreciate it as we are used to it.
Suppose its monsoon and wind is blowing at a high speed. In this situation, what is the reason for discontinuous blowing of wind? How the pressure variation which is dependent on temp variation, air does is bad conductor that it takes a few seconds b/w two consecutive breezes?
Local pressure variations. When wind flows from a point A and B, a situation can momentarily arise, when the pressures equalize, and thus flow reduces, if not stops.
