Spend Time with Kids
Nowadays most of Moms are back to work immediately after a few months of delivery due to various reasons. Most of them have problems in balancing between Work, Family and the Social activities. Most of them might have opted for alternative arrangements in looking after their kid; of course there is nothing wrong in it until they try to balance between work, family and Social Activity. I believe most of them would start early to office and by the time when they are back the whole day is almost gone and for most of the kids the day has already come to an end. Once they come they will enter into the kitchen to get set everything for dinner. Working Moms find it difficult to spend time with their kids. First let us try to understand the consequences of what happens if they don’t spend these first few years of bonding with their kids
In place of a mother looking after a kid someone else is doing that and they gain control of the kids rather than the mother and Sometimes mothers cant even understand the kids feelings, expressions. Spending majority of the day away from Kids make relationship more difficult.
When kids grow they capture everything in mind faster than anyone that is especially when a kid turns two. They capture more from observation. We can see that they try to imitate most of the actions we do. This is the age were kids get socialize with each other, they try to explore new things and activities. I personally believe this is the age were a mother can influence the child more than anyone else.
Most of hired Aunts make television as a baby sitting. It has been proven that kids who watch more television have crucial effects both mentally and as well as physically. Most of the kids initial stages (at least 5 years) should be spent in activities like playing, reading, music, exploring.
Now start on the ways to spend more time, quality time with your kids for more bonding.Once you are back from office plan your work accordingly so that you can spend more time with your kids. Give them a quick bath; try to play with your kid’s daily, talk to them, play music and dance with them, if you have enough time take them to a park near by or you can also involve them in small household work you do. Weekends are the best time to do more for your kids.
When kids grow (especially when they are two) they pick up more from observation so be sure about everyone’s behaviors. Be careful about the behavioral issues. Any activities that you don’t want your kids to get should be kept away from them.
If you have hired someone to take care of the kids be clear about the activities and the television timings for your kid. For kids less than five maximum of two hour of television is enough. It doesn’t mean that these duties are only for a mother it’s for parents and after all it’s necessary for a healthy relationship. Make quality time for your kids and don’t forget to put a smile on their face.
Here are different views on success:
success means to reach one's goal, no doubt, but it becomes all d more precious when u put 100% in achieving that goal. When you emerge triumphant after all your passionate hard work, it feels like temporary bliss. Success is nothing but happiness. you achieve what you think, dream, you are happy.The time you spent with your friends, your loved ones, is success too. You help the needy, poor. It is success. Anything you do that pleases your heart develops positive energy inside your soul, mind and body. A long n a beautiful destination after our SMART WORK with full DEDICATION. success is a relative term. Relative in terms of your ambitions and desire to excel in whichever field u are. it’s actually achieving the goal which you think you are worthy of. There are many people running in a race but everybody have their own goals. One might want to come first, another just want to improve his last record, another want to just touch the finishing line and so on. And if they all get what they are seeking for then everybody has succeeded!If you aim for something and you get it, it is not success. It is victory. But you repeat it 10 times it is sucess I mean to say if you are consistent in winning that is success.
Almost all people want to achieve it
success which makes u to feel proud
success makes others to think about you
success which makes u feel happy
success makes u self satisfied
Secret of success
No short cuts to success
Determined and whole hearted work I guess.
Being successful is relative; it means different things to different people. For me, success means being able to say that I am happy with what I am doing. Success is not just a destination, it is a journey. What use is destination when you are all wearied out after the journey??It is a journey not a destination. Success is based on imagination plus ambition and the will to work Success consists of hard work determination enthusiasm, and desire to achieve success. It is consists of journey not destination that never ends. It is based on imagination plus combination plus hard work. It is the mixture of good recipe of hard work and confidence and will power. Success is not just a term it is energy to doing achieve big in like, If people achieve success then become try to again to get something is those life and want to do sometime in his life. Everyone is not same they have the different mindset and have different attitude to do something, in his life .he wants to do something if he thinks he can do something.
You are what you believe:
The most important quality you can ever develop is having belief in yourself. The belief that you can, without a shadow of a doubt achieve success in every area of your life. Virtually every person has the capacity to do wonderful things with his/her life. But the greatest single obstacle is self-doubt. Many people wish they could accomplish certain things but lack the belief that they can actually do it. each one of us has feelings of inferiority because we feel that we are not good enough. we think that we are not good as other people and we feel we are not good enough to acquire and enjoy things we want in life. The universal law of belief says that whatever we believe, with feelings becomes our reality. We do not believe what we see, instead, we see what we believe to develop positive beliefs, and you have to decide exactly, where you you want to end up in future. The clearer you are about the result you want to in your future, the easier it will be for you to change your actions and behaviors in the short term. This in turn will assure you achieve what you want in the long term. Once you clearly decided on the type of person you want to be, you will have already taken a major step in developing new beliefs. in order to incorporate your new beliefs into your everyday life, you have to disciplined yourself to act exactly in every situation as if you already were that person.SUCCESSFULL people are not extraordinary or special in any way, they are not different from you or I. but all successful people do have the unwavering belief that they can accomplish anything that they really want in life. So from this day forward, see yourself as the very best you can be, and refuse to accept any limitations on your possibilities. Once you develop that belief in yourself, and you act in accordance with your belief, your future will be unlimited!
Success means different things to different people. It is a very subjective term with no clear cut definition which could be agreed upon by, all. But for sure, to succeed u definitely need to work hard, have patience and be sure of what your needs are because the achievements of your needs can help u measure your success.
There is only one secret to success in life, and it’s NOT what you think it is.
It is NOT:
- Hard work;
- Persistence;
- Attitude;
- Confidence;
- Focus;
- Positive thinking;
- Trying lots of things and keeping what works;
- Finding what you love doing and becoming good at it.
It’s none of the above!
Although all of those things are important, the one and the only secret to success in life is much simpler.
Configuration of mind:
success depends on our thoughts i.e. how we analyze our aim and every faces of it and planned accordingly and each plan should have proper logic behind it. And then it depends on you that how you configure your mind to carry yourself in that direction. Also if we have the tendency and ability to analyze our failures and learn from them accordingly, Then that failure becomes even more pleasant than some of the successes, as it serves as a background for our future ventures. I too want to share that wonderful common & integrated formula with as many people as possible. But preparing things before actually starting.
Formula for success:
HardWork+Patiences+attitude=Success
Is Success all about "Money":
success is not all about money. Only thing is that modern world has started to perceive it to be a yardstick of measuring success. Money has eclipsed the importance of other very important thing in life. if success is all about money then gandhiji was not successful. even our current president Dr.kalam is not success. All those per Consider the situation in a country like India, where we boast that we’ve got the best culture dating back to thousands of years, great brain, many geographical landmarks, beautiful landscape, a GDP growing at a staggering rate, a few of the top 10 richest people, emerging space power etc.But we are called a third world country, why?
The answer is simple. We’re not the richest! At least not among the rich nations. The issue is pretty simple as I see it; money may not be a benchmark to measure success but. If u assigns scores to certain factors that can be used as a scale to measure then I bet money will definitely hold a very highest score! Who say money is everything has to introspect failure gives way to success. After reaching this point you feel like anything. There is stage when you think about the path through which you have crossed your obstacles, leaving behind footprints to be followed. SUCCESS is never weighed by money, rather how many efforts, hard work, long sleepiness night’s you have spent.
What is more important -- success or achievement?
Achievement is superior to success. Success is getting something u want, how u get is not important. It is instantaneous feeling or in simple words it’s an achievement for any instant of time. Achievement is something which we should be bothered about.
if I got a job after my study, it means I am successful at that moment of time. How much knowledge I have got while studying is not important, the fact is that I have got a job, so I am successful. Now consider I am very bright student. I have got so many rewards from my teacher. But I didn’t get job. So here, I am not successful, yet i have achieved the knowledge, the concepts. So achievement is series of getting short success. Success and achievement are two different things. Consider this case.. I would call myself successful if I score first rank. However, if I stand second I have achieved second rank but I am not successful. So I think success is more satisfactory and achievement is not always success.
Good marks= Corporate Success?
Good marks definitely make a difference initially when the person is getting recruited. The person stands out. The moment you read a resume with 80% and above surely create some impression on you.. Not necessarily the best candidate but is perceived as a good candidate. . It about how people utilize the opportunities that they come across. how well can they handle different situations. Again we need to balance things out we cannot totally ignore academics and concentrate on other traits only.
Good Marks + Good Skills + Smart work= Corporate Success
Average Marks + Good Skills + Smart work= Corporate Success
Poor Marks + Good Skills + Smart work= Corporate Success (If he was recruited)
In my opinion grades don’t predict success. It might help a person to get into one of the best companies but definitely does not assure success. One must have the right blend of knowledge and skills, and must be able to implement the same in the corporate world. This will certainly help the person to go long way in corporate world. “Seek excellence in each thing you do and success will follow”. So one must not study for marks, but must be focused on understanding and should be able to draw patterns and know as to how they will be able to implement the same. Grades will fall in place. I am sure most of us have watched the movie 3 idiots and one of the most prominent learning was:
Never try to be successful, pursue excellence
• Success is the bye product and the result
• Excellence always creates Success and it is a process of continual improvement
• Never run after success
• Let it happen automatically in life.
Well what exactly is this concept we call success? Is it having a lot of money? Is it living in a nice house? Is it owning an expensive car or perhaps wearing nice clothes? The answer to all of these questions is "not exactly."After all, success is not an exact thing. Attaining success and being successful can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. What one person may consider to be successful may not be to someone else. And vice versa. OK then, what in the heck is success? Success for each person can only be determined solely by that individual. Each person must develop his or her own measuring stick for quantifying his or her own personal achievement.
You and only you get to determine what success means to you and even more importantly, the level of success you achieve in life. This determination may not necessarily pertain to money and things, but may instead focus on the degree of your happiness and contentment in life. One thing is for certain however. Regardless of your connotation of success, there is little doubt that the key to being successful is consistently doing your best, working towards the goals you have established for yourself and most of all, doing what you love to do with your life.
Without question, passionately pursuing those things that drive you, excite you and set you on fire is the key to your long term personal growth and success. Success is not some elusive illusion that you only get to fantasize about. Not at all. Success is your destiny on earth. You were put here for a reason, it’s just up to you to find that reason and then make it happen. And finding that reason simply requires that you listen to it and then follow your heart. When you finally take control of your life and accept 100% responsibility for who you are, where you are going, how you are going to get there and when you are going arrive your Countdown to Success begins.
Success vs Failure:
‘Success’ and ‘failure’ is same thing. Like light and darkness, one needs other to exist. World stands on ‘duality’, chase one you get the ‘other’. To ordinary, both gives different experiences, to the ‘peaceful’, both gives same experience of ‘santi’. We seek ‘nothingness’. Actually our soul doesn't differentiate between failure and success, in the pure sense soul wants to accept the two situations by responding but not by reacting. Its only our misery, its only our head, its only our expectation which gets hurt.so understand the difference soul doesn't like to differentiate, its only our head which wants to avoid the responsibility of failure n differentiate it.
Failure is another chance to improve ourselves; Can you count anybody who got success without failure? hats the hidden secret of successful person in life..Failure has its own importance; just give the importance like success. Both Failure and success are the recycle of life, play the game of life by putting our soul. Now I believe it would slowly have impact on your thought process.
Successful failure:
I feel we should learn to enjoy everything we do.. Then whether there's success or failure (which is only our perception we feel satisfied. What we feel is our success today, may result in failure in the days to come so why worry? Just give your 100% .I think then you will be looking for failures too.Success is the result of planning, patience and perseverance. Success always comes to those who try hard and long enough. The life of successful men is not a story of continuous successes.
In the struggle of existence, the fittest only survives. Persistence produces power. To fail proves, you are trying. Every failure is a dress rehearsal for success. Every opportunity for success also contains the possibility of failure. Never give up. The words failure and defeat are not same.
FAILURE IS SIMPLY A STEP TOWARDS SUCCESS. SO FAIL FORWARD.
WINNER NEVER QUIT, AND QUITTERS NEVER WIN.
IT’S WHEN THINGS SEEMS WORST, THAT YOU MUST NOT QUIT.
Love is the music of life. What can be won by hatred? Nothing. A lion can be tamed with love, but not even a bud can bloom by force.
Jesus Christ came to earth with empty hands. But his heart was like a lake of love.
Gandhiji was born in India. But he loved the world. Not only in India, had his freedom struggle started in South Africa.
Learn to love. Learn to win through love. Hatred only increases hatred. Love can conquer hatred. All the saints of the world preached only this lesson of love. That is why people pay homage to them; they come in thousands to bow their heads before the graves and edifices of saints.
Man has a very mean-minded habit of dividing himself into two categories – high and low. He is a lowly person because he lives in a hut at slum. I am a high born person because I live in a palace. He is an untouchable because he cleans drainage. I am pure because I do not clean my own house. Isn’t this a terrible attitude?
In fact, to think that somebody is lower than you or that you are better than someone else, is itself such a demeaning thing. It only shows that there is hatred in your mind.
Man creates so many differences today. He differentiates between black and white, rich and poor, high and low. But you know better, don’t you? The goddess of learning does not differentiate. She gives knowledge to all. She has made even so-called poor people scientists and prime ministers and presidents.
Former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri came from a poor family.
The American Former President Abraham Lincoln was the son of a poor farmer.
There is nothing more beautiful than love. There is nothing sweeter than love. Love is born when we give up being selfish. Love is born when we give up our pride and look towards others.
I am fair and he is dark.
My religion is pure, his religion is nothing.
The blood of my country is purer than the blood of that country.
The root of all these differences is the poison of hatred. Only love can cleanse the arrows of this poison.
This is the story of Sanghamitra. She was the daughter of Emperor Ashoka and she traveled far and wide carrying the message of Buddha. One day, a young man came to kill her. When he approached her, he found that Sanghamitra was tending the wounds of an old cow with great love and care. She was tying up the wounds with strips of her own clothing. The man was so moved by this display of love that he ran forward and fell at Sanghamitra’s feet. He begged her forgiveness.Love can melt the hardest heart. Anger and hatred have no place in life. Love holds the key.
Aeni’s only son died. Crying she ran to Swami Ramtirtha. “Prabhu, give me peace. Tell me what to do.”
“I have peace for you,” he said. “Peace is my business.” So saying he took her to a poor locality and put her hand into the hand of a small boy, an orphan child.
“Aeni, love this child. The more you love him, the more joy there will be in your heart.” Aeni did as he was told. Her heart was filled with love. Children from everywhere came to her for love and comfort.
Learn to love. Learn to be gentle. The gentle river cuts through the mountains. The rope cuts through stone. Love cuts through hardness. From love is born generosity, tolerance, greatness, compassion.
Sow the seed of love in your heart today. Sure! It will become a pleasant garden soon.
There is nothing wrong in accumulation. But you must also learn to share. Take a look at Nature. The clouds pour forth their rain on the Himalayas. The mountains do not keep all the water. All the water is sent down to the plains in the form of rivers. Spring comes and fills all the trees with flowers. But do the trees keep the flowers and fruits for themselves? No, man, animals, birds, all eat their fruits.
If you don’t learn to share, you become proud. Have you seen the pond that has collected water from all four sides? It stinks. The water is stale. Why? It has not learned to give. The river flows, and as it flows, it gives water to every body. Look at the ocean; though it is so vast, yet the water is salty. Not one creature can quench its thirst with sea water.
When the whole world is giving and taking, how is it that man alone does not want to share? There is nothing wrong with making money. But if you don’t share, it is a crime. You can use the money to improve the lot of the poor. If you don’t let the money flow, it will begin to rot. Your life will begin to decay.
Too much money leads to all kinds of temptations. It is better to wash off all the sins in the river of charity. Be charitable. It is certainly wrong to be a miser. Charity can be done through other ways. You can work with your hands; you can give some land; you can give your blood; and you can share your knowledge.
Vinoba bhave who is the disciple of Mahatma Gandhi created great awareness of land charity.
Our Former president Abdul Kalam insists to youngsters for sharing their knowledge to innocent people.
There are innumerable ways of doing favors. You can help society; you can help your friend; and you can help your neighbor. When you don’t want any thing, you can give it to a needy person rather than let it to wastage bin. You can give your woolen clothes, some food to a poor person. If you can share your food with a hungry person, it is the best act of charity you can perform.
It is said in the Vedas that the man who eats alone does not eat food, he eats sins. It is very important to share food. Learn to give. No matter how little a person’s salary is, the entire family somehow manages to survive on it. Everyone eats. Everyone celebrates festivals. Then, why does a question of a low salary occur only when you have to give?
These a little acts of charity can change a person’s life. It can give a poor person a chance to do something in life. It also makes you a much better person. You need only one thing – to give in charity. You need compassion to be a complete human being. You must have sympathy for a fellow living creature. You must have compassion, forgiveness and love. You may be a human being in outward appearance. But without these qualities, you are no human being at all. A human being must show humanity.
When a person dies, only his good and bad deeds go with him. Swami Vivekananda has said, “The hand that goes out to help a person in need is greater than the two hands being joined in prayer.”
Look around you. Be like an angel to one, who is needy, give bread to the hungry, share with the poor, give books to the one who wants to study, but has no books. If at all you have nothing to give, distribute the knowledge and information you have acquired.
When you give you must give with a pure mind. If you are thinking of what you will get in return, it is no use giving at all. It becomes a bargain, that’s all. Always keep an eye open for the needy. Give help readily and with a smile as Gandhiji smile in rupee note.
Don’t ask what you will get in return. Remember the one simple fact: the more you give, the more you have.
Violence has to be understood in a more spiritual way rather than intepreting it from the physical or emotional standpoint. The whole Vedanta is based on the fundamental of non-violence but defining what non violence is is extremely difficult. It is entirely dependent on the situation as you said, Padavas killing the Kauravs. Infect Pandavas killing the Kauravas can be categorized as an act of non violence. It’s your saw dharma which should make you take the right step. In which case causing physical violence may be a spiritually a non violent activity. So I say non violence should be judged entirely at the spiritual plane and not at physical, or emotional.
Let me tell you a story. This was told to us by a Swami in Ramakrishna Mission.Once a sadhu gives 2 of his disciples one card each.Each card is partially white and partially black. Sadhu tells them, that currently your spiritual development is 50% and the idea is to make your cards completely white by doing good deeds. So both the disciples head out in the jungle and on the way they see a thief assaulting a woman. The first disciple thinks.There are so many evil deeds going on in the world.why should I interfere in this situation and just ignores the event and goes ahead. The second disciple goes and kills the thief. Immediately his card turns white.
So the meaning of non violence is very subtle. Like in this case already an act of violence was in progress. By killing the robber another act of physical violence was carried out the first act was tamasic and second act was having satva in the rajas (As Ramakrishna used to say this satva in rajas. Violence entirely depends on the mental view of the fact. In other words, I’d say that violence is anything that makes someone else feel bad about it.
I really think it can happen as violence. May be arjuna felt it right, and if he had any physical pain for it, he would feel he did the right thing every time and he was not violent. However, what happens today is not like that. Lots of people go to war because of something that he don’t really care, and die for it. That is violence. At least to them. What i am trying to say is that if you go to war to protect your father, if you die, if you suffer that won’t be violence to you! Because you know that you did it for love. you knew this could happen and you won’t feel bad about it. You will feel like a hero. But if you were forced to do it.. Then it is violence. to kill civilians. that is violence.
what is violence? In short to kill the qualities of soul is violence. In general to hurt others is violence. The battle fought according to geeta and mahabharta was a violence. we have to accept it and meanwhile study it deeply. In that story kauravas also comitted violence and at a stage pandavas also committed violence.
But there was a difference that pandavas and krishna tried a lot to maintain peace by mutual understanding. And even after the announcement of war krishna declared that he will not use weapons. The geeta epic doesnt seems to be totally narrated in the battle-field. It seems it is a collection of krishnas thought expressed in different situations. Mingling them all to battle-field has made it awkward. Leaving one or two chapters whole geeta has nothing to do with war. But still it is compiled as a single text and cannot be denied. Krishna was really a great warrior. He was very brave indeed. But when talking about geeta we see krishna narrating the path of liberation also. Whoever narrated geeta but a person in search of liberation can find many helpful versus there. I would like to elaborate some of them.
Ideological Violence: A critique
I would prefer to use the word ‘human evolution’ instead of human development without meaning any offence to the second word. The other day one senior academic was telling me – “There is so much violence around us that we can hardly claim that it is the land of the Mahatma Gandhi.” But we tend to forget that Mahatma Gandhi himself saw so much violence during his lifetime – partition causing worst-ever violence- that he spoke so much about non-violence. Hence, possible, he chose the most unconventional path for liberation.
I can talk about violence that is prevalent in nature and human nature. But what disturbs me most in these days, is the violence in the name of culture. It is an irony that culture, which is supposed to erase violence from human nature, has in fact resulted in more violence.
Hence, I intend to talk about one dominant form of violence that is ideological violence. I do not even tend to use the word – political violence which cam mean violence due to power struggle. Ideological violence is more subtle, but also more brutal. Its effect is much more intense and longitudinal, more subliminal and dangerous. It can turn violent against all hapless communities, against women, children, minorities, dalits, adivasis and all other subaltern groups. Our own belief in one form ‘development’ can cause immense violence and also subvert ‘human development’ itself.
How does ideology cause violence? In essence, ideology is a system of belief. If it is not open for criticism and self assessment, it becomes a dogma. If it doesn’t introspect, it becomes fundamentalism. If it has shades of religion and if it indulges in power politics, it becomes communalism. If the end starts justifying the means, violence also becomes an acceptable methodology. Ideology starts defending ‘clash of civilizations.’
History is replete with such organized ideological violence, heralding the message that blood cannot be washed with blood. While Ingmar Bergman’s film ‘Seventh Seal’ most colquently discusses the futility of Crusades, both Hitler and Stalin are the semiotics of the ideological violence. Even before condemning international terrorism, it is imperative to be critical of the violence caused by the American neo-imperialist designs.
Now I am more concerned with our own contemporary scene. It is a tragic irony that two great apostles of non-violence – Jesus and Gandhi – confronted violence even in their twilight. One was crucifies and the other was assassinated. Commenting on Gandhi’s assassination, sociologist Assha Nandy says that Godse was just the tooth of a long poisonous snake.
It was not just Gods who desired to kill Gandhi, but it was also the hidden fantasy of all those who endorsed Godse’s point of view – which has even become politically quite significant today. The Gandhi- Godse interface is the semiotics of confrontation between Hinduism and Hindutva and the present is an episode in this long narrative.
From the demolition of Babri Masjid to the recent attack on Christian prayer halls, from Gujarat violence to the recent attack on women in Mangalore pub, vandalism against inter-religious socialization, threats issued to professor (Pattabhiram Somayaji) or to the journalist – these are basically different manifestations of the same ideological violence which has unfortunately become the opium of the masses today. But such acts are basically an assault on Hinduism itself. They are irreligious acts in the power-play of politics.We often hear many ideologues (senior BJP leader L.K. Advani’s recent condemnation of attack on women in pub, is a case in point) even condemning such acts of violence. But what they don’t realize is the fact that such violence is the extension of their own ideology; such violence is in-built in their own ideology; what they practice is not religion, but corruption of religion. Anything that breeds hatred cannot be religious. Anything that disrupts this delicate web of human relationships cannot be religious.
Violence is the anti-thesis of humaneness. It is the anti-thesis of Buddha, Jesus, Mohammed and Gandhi. It is the anti-thesis of humanity itself.Let us examine both violence and non-violence and most importantly why and where their need arises. Whenever there is an adverse situation where we have conflicting interests among two or more parties/entities the need to use either violent or non-violent methods arises to serve our purpose or safeguard our interests.The decision is taken after evaluating various options. Now what compels someone to prefer one over another? In any case the major determinants are the defense mechanism, sources, belief system, position with respect to the opponent and the situation which determine the choice.Violent methods means ( here I intend the popular or common belief or understanding ) using disruptive methods or physical assaults or using brute force on the opponent in to make him/her submit/surrender or defeat and sometimes eliminate. In this methods we often see the entity is more aggressive or powerful or in commanding position or simply doesn't have any other resources to use and it is the last resort. More often than not those who use this method after long analysis of the situation understand that there is no way out other than violence.
Non-violent methods means ( here again I intend the popular or understanding ) using peaceful methods ( physically, whether they psychologically or emotionally peaceful or not is altogether a different debate ).The entity uses a series of psychological moves on his/her opponent in order to inculcate guilt, raise sentiments of majority against the adversary. The entity which uses non-violent methods is often physically weak or have less physical resources to overpower its opponent, so frankly non-violence becomes its only feasible choice. Whether we agree or not but more often we see that choice of non-violence is based on the available resources which can safeguard personal interest in best possible manner rather ethics. We can see more potent use of non-violent methods in recent times to achieve objectives irrespective of the fact whether the objectives are right/wrong or justified.
Non violence, is actually a very intellectually evolved, and considerate concept. But perhaps, many people who are very intellectually evolved, and considerate, may not be non violent. Non violence is acutely a process of trying to control oneself, and hence, in anger, when one is non violent, then one is trying to be considerate to oneself, and to the object which our anger is directed to. Perhaps, violence is an attitude, more than an action. Sri Ramakrishna Paramhamsa was non violent, even though he slapped his disciple, once. To teach his violence shunning disciple the true meaning of non violence, he began to kill pests, and remarked, that the pests were a nuisance. If one kills another, indirectly, or perfectly in self defense, then is that one violent? For example, killing a mosquito, is it violence? Did Mahatma Gandhi never kill mosquitos? If Mahatma Gandhi felt, that he was acting in anger, then to practice self restraint, he would not kill the mosquito. Perhaps, this is the concept behind non violence.
