Different people live in different parts of India
You live among people.
You have family.
You have relatives.
You have you friends and neighbors.
When you go to a birthday arty, you get to know new people.
When go to the club, you make new friends.
Wherever you go, you meet new people and interact with them.
All thee people you and your family live interact with make up your society.
We are all Indians.
We live in a large and beautiful country called India and Hindustan and Bharat. A great unity is there.
Different people live in different parts of India.
These people speak different languages.
They pray to God in different ways.
They look very different.
They like to eat different kinds of food.
South people use rice food and northern use wheat Chapatti.
They dress differently.
Men uses pant shirts and Dhotis shirts. Women use saris bowlegs and Panjabi dress.
You live among different people everywhere in this country. You must know how much they are like you.
You should also know how different they are.
Unless you do so, you will be able to share your life them and be good neighbor.
We celebrate our festivals together.
We have some festivals to celebrate that we are one nation, one people.
These are our national festivals.
Independence Day is the most important of our national festivals.
Independence Day
Every year on the 15th August, we celebrate our nation’s birthday. On 15th August, 1947 we became free from British rule lasted nearly 200 years.
Our prime minister hoists the national flag at the red fort in New Delhi, our capital.
We sign our national anthem, Jana Gana Mana Adhinayaka Jaya he.
Republic day
India is a country where people choose their own rulers by voting.
Such a country is called a republic.
We became a republic on 26th January, 1950.
26th January is celebrated every year by all Indians as republic day.
The national flag is hoisted and the national anthem is suing.
In every big city, there is a military parade.
