Kindness and helping is very good habit.
Royappa was wise monk and great teacher. One day, his sister –in- law went to see him. `Please come and talk to my son,’ she said. ` I am sure he will listen to you.’ She looked very worried.
Royappa listened to her. `What is worrying you, m sister? ‘He asked. `My son does not work. He wastes his father’s money in wild parties. He does not any work on the estate,’ she complained. `If he does not improve his behavior, we will lose everything. I do not know what to do.
Royappa went to his brother’s house. There he met his nephew. He was very fond of the young man. The young man too, was really pleased to see his uncle. Many years ago, before Royappa joined the monastery, uncle and nephew had spent many happy hours together. They young knew that his other had visited Royappa at the monastery. He knew why his uncle had come. He waited for the scolding he was sure he would receive. But Royappa said nothing.
The next morning it was time for Royappa to go back to the monastery. He put on his garments and then turned to his nephew: `will you help me tie the stars of my sandals? My hands shake and I cannot do it.’
His nephew helped him willingly.
`Thank you’ said Royappa. `A man becomes older and feebler day by day. Do you remember how strong and active I used to be?’
`I do,’ said his nephew thoughtfully, `I do remember how it used to be.’
He suddenly realized that hi mother and all those who looked after him had become old. It was now his to look after them.
From that moment he gave up old way of life forever.
