Once upon a time...
There was a small village near a jungle. In that village, a farmer was living happily with his family. His name was Narayya. He had some agricultural field. That field was very nearer to the jungle.
This time he planted sorghum in his farm. Every time he was facing a big problem. Animals in the jungle were attacking his field frequently. Hence half of his crop was wasting all the times. That was a regular loss for him.
He built a scaffold at his farm. He was guarding the farm carefully all the time.
One day... That was evening time. Sun was setting with beautiful colors. Cool breezes were coming from the jungle. Climate was very pleasant.
Narayya reached his farm from his home. He brought sorghum rotis for his dinner in a small pot. Those rotis were prepared by his wife. She was a specialist in making of tasty rotis.
Darkness was occupying the whole world slowly. Narayya climbed the scaffold. Wild animals began their hunting for food. Their screams were very horrible. However, those animal screams were very familiar to Narayya. Hence he without any fear started his dinner.
There was a cruel demon in the jungle. It ate so many animals in the jungle. It lost interest in routine animal food. It was in search of another type of food. Unfortunately, Narayya was seen by that demon.
Narayya was busy in eating rotis and singing some folklore songs happily. The demon came to the farm and suddenly appeared on the scaffold. Narayya was shocked firstly. When he found that was a demon, Narayya got shivers with full of fear.
"I am hungry. I like human meat very much. I am going to eat you," the demon told Narayya.Narayya almost died with fear. He requested the demon several times, "Please do not eat me. My family depends on me." However, the demon did not care his requests. The demon caught Narayya to eat. At that moment, it saw the rotis in the pot.
"Now I eat the rotis. Then I eat you," demon said and started to eat rotis. It liked the taste of roties very much. It finished eating and told Narayya, "Rotis are tasty. Now I taste you.".
Narayya started to think sharply. He observed that the demon was pleased very much with the taste of rotis. With the help of that point, Narayya played a trick. "If you eat me, who give you these tasty rotis?" Narayya questioned the demon. Demon got some confusion. "will you give the roties?" demon asked with doubt. "If you leave me, I give more tasty rotis to you daily" Narayya said honestly.
The demon agreed narayya's proposal after some thinking. "You have to give me the rotis daily without failing even a single day. Otherwise, I will eat you for sure," the demon gave a strong warning to Narayya and disappeared into the jungle.
Narayya felt very happy for saving himself.

In those days, there was a famous exorcist. He needed a demon. So, he was searching for a demon in the villages and forests. He heard about Narayya and the demon story. He came to Narayya's farm that evening.
The exorcist told Narayya that he came for the demon. He said that he was going to catch and bind the demon. For that purpose, he asked the permission to hide in the scaffold.
Narayya did not agree for that.
The exorcist was surprised. He questioned Narayya, "Why are you disagree for this? That demon is torturing you for rotis daily. If you fail to feed it even one day, it will kill you surely. If I capture it, You will free from this burden. You can live happily. Think one more time."
Narayya answered for his question like this, "What you said is entirely true. However, the demon is coming for food and trusting me that I give the food. If I let you to capture it, that is a betrayal. That is a sin. I never do it."
The exorcist was pleased with Narayya's answer. He praised Narayya's morality. He went away.
After the exorcist departure,The demon appeared in front of the Narayya. Its face was filled with full of gratitude.
That demon came early for rotis that day. It saw the exorcist, and it hid under the scaffold. The demon heard the entire conversation between the Narayya and the exorcist. It understood the greatness of Narayya. It felt sorrow for the burden caused by him. The demon thanked Narayya for saving him from the exorcist. And it did one more great thing. It went to its tamarind tree and took some gold coins form tree's excavation.
The demon gave those gold coins to Narayya. And it went away.
Narayya felt very happy. The demon never came there again. Narayya became rich with those gold coins and lived happily with his family.
Narayya stood on his word, and he disagreed to betrayal. Hence he got the golden life.
