It is no use saying something we do not mean. If we say things we do not mean, some time later we will be found out. This can ruin our come. This can distance our friends.
We often say sorry. But we do not mean it. We do the mistakes again. If we are really sorry for having done something wrong, we should try not to make the same mistake again. When we do this, others will trust us. They will respect us.
Uma was a sweet little girl. She was very lively. At the same time she was very mischievous. Every time she was caught, she said, `sorry’. Still she did the same thing again.
People understood that she was not really sorry. They stopped to take her seriously. Even her friends tried to avoid her. When she understood that nobody had any respect for her, she became upset.
Uma’s mother understood her problem. In fact on a few occasions, she tried to correct her. But nothing worked. Now she tried to make Uma realize her mistake. `Never say anything that you do not mean,’ her mother advised her.
Uma decided to change. In course of time people began to change their opinion about her. Her friends came back to her. She felt happy. Thereafter she never made any promises that she did not mean.
Once we say something, we should stand by it. We should be sincere. If we tell our parents that we will work hard and do well in the examinations and do not keep the promise, we will lose their trust. They will not trust us in other things as well.
It is better not to say something if we do not mean it. Do not make promises that we cannot keep. Be sincere in what we say. Stick to what we say. Then others will consider us to be reliable and responsible.
*say what you mean. Then you will have many friends. People will respect you for being sincere.
