Humanity, a simple word it seems to be, but practically it is not that simply observed being practiced. The meaning of humanity also varies according to the mind-sets and beliefs of people. For some it is an act of humanity to sacrifice a goat in the temple so that Goddess will bless the village with good crops while for others it is inhumane to do so with an innocent animal. Humanity is a kind of feeling too that comes from inside and varies with the individual, family, society or region. It is a difficult task to check the inhumane practices that are protected by the blanket of traditions or religion. But still there are people and governments that are working hard by eliminating various humane practices by means of public awareness, financial support as well as by farming and implementing laws. Although it will take time yet it is sure that the level, awareness and sensitivity about humanity and humane concepts will keep on increasing day by day!
