Whenever you come across someone who is poor, hungry, sick or in need of help do you feel sad? Do you want to reach out and help in whatever way you can/ if you do, you are a sensitive child who cares about others.
This world is full of people who need our love and attention. If you show concern, speak kind words, do good deeds, it ways makes a difference.
It can cheer and brighten up someone’s life. It also spreads joy in your life as you feel good about yourself. You receive God’s blessing in abundance.
We all know about mother Teresa. She was truly sensitive to the sufferings of others and devoted her entire life to serve the poor and the sick.
Mother Teresa was born in Yugoslavia. When she grew up she became a nun. She came to India and taught in a convent school in Kolkata.
Whenever she saw the poor and the miserable in the slums around her, she felt very sad. She thought, ``I can serve God by looking after the sick and the poor’’.
She left the convent and started the ``Missionaries of Charity’ to serve the needy. Along with other sister, she cleaned the slums, took care of the old and sick, taught poor children and helped in every way. She spread the message of love and selfless service.
In recognition of her services, she was awarded with the noble peace Prize and Bharat Ratna. Mother Teresa died in September 1997 but her good work was spread in the entire world.
Mother Teresa said
The worst disease in the world today is the feeling of not being wanted and not being loved. The poor do not want your pity; what they is your love, your care and your sharing.
Service to man is the highest worship of God.
