Clary, who believes herself to be ordinary, gets caught in a strange world where demons chase her and everyone becomes interested in her. She witnesses a murder, and she happens to be the only one who can really see those people killing. Clary's mother disappears and suddenly Clary in involved with strange creatures, some of whom aren't even human. The entire plot is full of surprises with a twist at every corner. You will anticipate one thing, and be rewarded with quite another.

Originally published in 2007 by Margaret K McElderry, this book has been on the New York Times Bestseller List. Several other publications have praised this book widely, which is both a great fantasy and a young-adult read
