The season of winter brings quite a few problems for many. Among them problems of the skin are prominent. Usually, the low temperature of this season turns the skin dry and rough. Some people develop cracks in the soles of their feet. Sometimes the cracks are so deep that they begin to look red or in some cases begin to ooze blood. I suggest a few tips to keep the skin fresh and fit during the winter. If anyone gets cracked heels in this season or already has them, the tips given below will cure them.
Dry skin
As the atmospheric temperature drops down sweat glands stop secreting sweat and the skin loses the moisturizing agent. Consequently, it begins to appear dry and rough and takes a whitish look. To get rid of this dryness and roughness use the following mixture. Take 100 ml of fresh milk in a clean glass tumbler or a cup. Add 5 drops of olive oil and 8 drops of rosewater into it. Apply this mixture on your skin lightly and sit in the sun for about fifteen minutes. Then take a bath in lukewarm water. Following this method twice a week will keep your skin fresh and full of vitality through the winter.
The cold winds of the winter are particularly cruel on the tender facial skin. It loses its shine and vitality. Some women and children get black dot like marks on their cheeks. To get back the shiny and lively looks of your face use the following preparation. Take 15 ml fresh milk in a cup or glass tumbler. Add gram flour into it slowly and stir. Stop when you see it has turned into paste. Apply this paste on your face, neck and arms. After 10 minutes, wash it away with lukewarm water and find your skin fresh and soft as new.
Crush a cucumber of medium size and strain the juice in a glass cup. Add 5 drops of rosewater and rub this liquid on your face. It may also be applied on arms and legs. It makes the skin smooth and youthful. Don’t throw away the pulp, you place a layer of it on your face. Wash it away after 15 minutes. Feel the difference yourself.
Milk and honey are natural moisturizer. Take two tablespoons of curd and a teaspoon of honey and mix them. Rub this mixture on your face and neck. Wash it away with lukewarm water after 15 minutes.
Vinegar is also useful to add beauty to the skin. Mix vinegar and water in equal proportion and warm it in mild heat. Take it down from the stove and allow it to cool. Then, soak a piece of cotton and rub it on your face. Wash your face after 10 minutes.
Cracked heels
Melt 200 gram of wax with heat and add 20 drops of honey to it. Keep the mixture in a container. Apply this preparation on the cracked heels twice a day. Wear cotton socks to protect the heels from dust and other pollutants. This will fill the cracked heels in a few days.

Massage your body with mustard oil in winter. This gives a lively shine and vigor to your body. Some may dislike its “rustic” smell but no one can deny its healthy effects on the body. If one wishes so, use some glycerine soap after the massage. This will remove the unpleasant odour.
This season is good for morning walks. Go for a brisk walk for half an hour and feel its multiple healthy effects in your body. It refreshes both the body and the mind, removes toxic elements, regulates digestion. Indigestion and irregular bowel movement is the root of many evils. Eat healthy diet.
