It is early morning. The night ends and the east gleams with the first ray of sunlight. The night rolls up her dark blanket as dawn sprinkles her colors on the horizon.
The world opens its eyes. This is the time for devotees to pray. This is the time for hard working people to work. This is the time for students to study.
Beauty of the morning surpasses the beauty of the day. Its peace is precious. For students this time is invaluable. The Goddess of learning is pleased with those children who use this time to study. She blesses them. But she has no time for those who continue to sleep.
As the sun drives away darkness, in the same way ignorance is driven away by the rays of knowledge. Getting up early in the morning means that you have started towards your goal. And when you have made the right beginning, you will reach your target first of all.
All of us known the proverb “Early bird Catches a Lot”.
All great people make good use of the dawn. Mahatma Gandhi used to wake up with the first light. Pandit Nehru used to be up at four in the morning every day to begin work. These hours are very precious. It is a pity to waste such precious time in bed. If you want to do well, if you want to achieve your goal, you must sleep early and wake up early.
If you want to travel somewhere, you must make an early start. Only then will you reach the destination on time. After all, the sun does not wait for anybody to begin its journey. It successfully defeats the night on its own. This is the time for victory. If you wake up early and use this time for study, success will beckon you.
The whole world is busy. Butterflies flit on the flowers. The farmer ploughs his field. The boatman is in the sea. All around, people begin the day as though it is a new life. How can you be so lazy? How can you continue to sleep? Wake up.
You feel there is no difference between getting up at four o’clock and getting up at five o’clock. But this means you can save one full hour. Do you know how valuable an hour is? If you spend an hour each day learning some trade or job, you will soon become a clever worker. If you read 10 pages of a book each day, in a month you will be able to finish a book of 300 pages. A cobbler, Charles Frost used to study for one hour every day. He then became a world famous mathematician.
It is belief; the goddesses of fame and wealth wake up by five. The goddess of learning never wakes after four.
The morning air is precious. It is called life breath. It is the life breath that keeps you in good health. Dawn is a store house of life. It is also a store house of health.
Each morning is like a golden cup filled with luck and opportunity. You must drink from this cup. If you don’t, it means that you are wasting the opportunity, your intelligence, you power and spoiling your conduct. No matter how clever you may be, even a foolish fellow will do better than you if he makes use of the opportunities.
Don’t be lazy in the morning. Study, or do some exercises, or some gardening, simply take a walk, help in the house. Do anything. But don’t laze in bed.
It is dawn. It is time to wake up.
