Review of Action Replayy Trailer:
From the looks Action Replayy trailer looks quie impressive. With its retro look the film surely promises lot of fun, entertainment and action. It brins back the hit director actor jodi of Akshay kumar and Vipul Shah who have as a director actor combo delivered many hits like Aankhein, Waqt and Namastey London. Vipul has also produced Akshay's blockbuster Singh is Kingg. Hence much can be anticipated from this director actor jodi. The film has also brought together Aishwarya Rai Bachchan opposite Akshay Kumar after a long time. They were last seen in Khaakee. While Aishwarya sports different looks based on styles sported by the actresses of 1970s like Hemamalini, Neetu Singh, Zeenat Aman etc. Akshay sports a haircut ala Rajest Khanna and delivers dialogue ala Shatrughan Sinha.
The film is based on a Gujarathi play of same name . It is a welcome move since Shah's earlier movie Aankhein was also similarly based on a Gujarathi play 'Andhalo Pato' which was well received by both audiences and critics. Hence we can expect a good script with good screenplay from Action Replayy.
The film is supposed to be based on a young boy's travel in the past who decides to see for himself how his parents who are constantly bickering and fighting with each other have been married. He wishes that the only thing he wants to change in past is his parents being married. He takes his scientist uncle's help and travels through time machine to 70s era when his parents have actually fallen in love.
Well coming to the trailer of the film it starts with a typical love story set in 1970s where the Hero sports a macho look and bashes up bad guys while impressing the heroine. So when Mala played by Aishwarya and Kishen played by Akshay fall in love , Mala's mother played by Kirron Kher opposes their marriage like a typical mother of 70s. The trailer is quiet interesting with loads of comedy. What's interesting is the boy in the trailer trying to play cupid with Akshay and Aishwarya.Obviously he is the son of Akshay and Aishwarya from future who travels the time to reunite his parents. Randhir Kapoor plays his scientist uncle. The film also stars Neha Dhupia in a prominent role. It would be quite interesting to see the aged looks of Akshay and Aishwarya playing parents to a teenager.
While its a welcome change to see Akshay do something different than what he regularly does. The film has comedy, romance and action along with the retro look and feel .This film is surely going to score at the box office.Hence I am very excited and looking forward to the movie which releases on Diwali, 5th November, 2010.
