2 march 2009 Updates

Lots of girls want to dance with Samrat, but Diya prevents them all by coming in between. Diya makes Samrat promise that he'll take her out to ice cream, etc... after the ball just like last year. Gunjan comes and turns heads because she's looking so gorgeous. Uday also comes and starts acting all emotional with Diya. Samrat gives Gunjan a white flower, which she doesn't accept, which leads him to say that he made a promise and that he has to reassure her every time. Gunjan kinda stares at him with that classic Gunjan expression and Samrat tells her she thinks a lot. She smilingly accepts the flower. When she's about to leave, Samrat stops her and says this flower is like the one he gave for good luck in the Talent Parade. She's about to leave again when he stops her again and wishes her best of luck. She leaves, smiling. Gunjan wishes that Nupur or her secret friend were here. Uday confides in her that he doesn't think CJ will come, but Uday sees a girl who looks like CJ and leaves. Gunjan is really nervous about her performance. Samrat tells Benji he's not needed for the next plan and Benji says if he does need his help, he's a call away. Gunjan starts thinking that her secret friend might be Samrat. Staring moment... and Samrat comes to her.

Nupur is failing miserably at making parathas while Mayank is cutting vegetables. Mayank makes a comment, and this results in a food fight. Mayank accidentally gets a piece of chili in Nupur's eyes and he has to come get it out. Mayank manages to get it out by holding her face, blowing a bit, etc... (a.k.a they're so close to each other! lol) but is staaaaaaring at her while Nupur is quite oblivious of this. Nupur tastes Mayank's dal and tells him there's no salt. He starts laughing- much to her surprise, he's laughing along with her. Nupur laughs too and says they should end these fights. Nupur says they will always fight, so this would just be a cease fire. Mayank says their competitors would use their fights to his advantage... so it's better to just be friends. Nupur says she won't forget everything and Mayank says he won't let her forget. With atta-covered hands, they shake hands and become friends. Mayank is making food and then Nupur comes down after taking a shower. Her hair is wet and she is wearing Mayank's clothes. Mayank is spellbound. She comes over and takes over the cooking while drying her hair, and sometimes her hair hits his face... he is still quite spellbound. She angrily asks him why he's staring at him, he denies it, and then she apologizes because this friendly role is hard to get used to. He tells her to take off her clothes () but later corrects this and says he doesn't want her wearing his clothes, so go change. Mayank tells himself to fooooocus... not on Nupur!

12th January Samrat asks Gunjan if there's any problem and she denies. When he asks her to come to his house to help him study, she says ok. Diya and Annie are shocked at her "shamelessness" of helping Samrat even after knowing the truth. At his house, Samrat answers all the questions correctly but Gunjan is depressed. He gets worried and presses her with questions, but she says that she is not lying, she is not hiding anything, that is not the sort of thing she would do. She hints very, very heavily and Samrat's guilty conscience gets pricked. Samrat says that if she doesn't tell him it's like she doesn't put trust in her friends... he goes on to stay other stuff like this that Gunjan knows he is guilty of with the bet, cheating, etc... He makes her promise to tell him whatever is bothering her after the exams. Uday decorates his body with notes, Ghajini style, and tries to use this during the test (last exam!). Meanwhile Samrat is still worried and tells Gunjan that he also has something to tell her, but they can discuss that all during a dinner date. Ms. Aha gives them a three hour exam. After Shukla's exam, Nupur goes brings a coconut from her bag and breaks it on the ground in front of her Ganesh murthi, shouting Ganapathi Bappa Maurya really really loudly. The entire class stares at her... lolzzz After Ms. Aha's exam, Samrat is about to go talk to Gunjan when Diya stops him and asks if they can go to the canteen together. He actually pushes her away gently and goes after Gunjan, but cannot find her anywhere. She is hiding behind a wall so he doesn't see her. He wonders aloud where she is and what's bothering her, and Gunjan listens. 13th January Gunjan listens to Samrat and slips away so he can't see her. The two go their separate ways. Meanwhile, Deodhar has called Nupur to his office. She goes, only to find that Mayank is also there. The two fight quite a bit. In the canteen, Dia announces that she will be hosting this year's New Year's party. The gang is very excited. Samrat arrives at the canteen and they invite him to join them, but he brushes it off saying he is looking for Gunjan. Diya teases him saying that as Gunjan is her cousin, she is worried about him caring so much about her. He replies saying that Gunjan may be HER cousin, but she is HIS friend. As Samrat is about to leave, Annie and Chako pass comments about Gunjan... and Samrat hears them! He is very very very very angry and tells them to never say things like that about his friends as he cares a lot about his friends. Diya brushes it off saying that Annie and Chako are just like that, but she later scolds them for talking like that when Samrat was near. Deodhar informs Mayank and Nupur that they both have been selected to be Excel's team for the Intercollegiate Academic Meet. Mayank protests saying that Deodhar promised that whoever comes first can choose their partner. The two argue that they can never work together, the other is not fit for representing the college, etc... Deodhar tells the two that the decision is final and they must compete. He also adds that Mayank came first, and Nupur came second by two marks. Mayank feels very triumphant at this and decides that he will find a partner better than Nupur. It's decided that if Nupur can beat his partner, then Nupur will go to the meet as Mayank's partner. Deodhar congratulates Nupur on her progress and how he never expected her to do so good. Mayank and Nupur are in a very competitive mode. Samrat finds Gunjan and gives her flowers, asking her to come for their dinner date so she can tell him what's wrong. She makes excuses and says she has to go, but Samrat says that she had promised him. She tries to leave, Samrat grabs her hand. He jokes about how he has never had to request a girl like this for a date and how he has to keep his image. Gunjan gets mad and drops his flowers. She goes on to tell him angrily how she has always helped him keep up his image with the talent parade, studying, exams, cheating affair, and how it's because of her that his image is safe. She goes on to say that now the exams are over, but Samrat interjects saying that just because their exams are over doesn't mean their friendship is over. Gunjan asks him when their friendship ever really started? She explains that he helped her in the talent parade and overcoming her fears just for a bet. Samrat is SHOCKED- he remembers Diya's warning words about how he will lose the bet. He also remembers how he and Benji talked about how he really ought to tell Gunjan the truth. Gunjan says it was all just a bet, but still he helped her... and that's why in exchange she helped him with the exams. He helped her, she helped him, there never was any friendship. In shock, Samrat remembers when they first made friends and when he gave her flowers just now. Crying, Gunjan tells him that he doesn't need her anymore... and after crying more and taking a deep breath, she tells him that she doesn't need him anymore either. Images of Gunjan dropping his flowers and leaving his handshake cross his mind. Gunjan leaves in a rush and Samrat helplessly watches her leave.

14th january

Samrat is shocked when he realises that Gunjan knows all about the bet! He tries to figure out the person who must have told this to her.

He thinks that perhaps its Diya and asks her about it. And Diya says yes but saves her skin playing innocent that she never thought it'll become such an issue and turns it around on Samrat. That he should've thought about all this before laying the bet! Samrat gets into a soul searching mode that it's about time he takes responsibility of his own acts! He consoles her saying that she has not done anything wrong.

Mayank notices a sad Gunjan and he tries to find out what is bothering her. Into which walks in Nupur and realizes something is wrong with Gunjan! Mayank asks CJ to become his partner but she refuses saying Nupur is the right partner in every way. Samrat tries to call up Gunjan but she hangs up on him. He tries again and this time its Nupur who takes the call and takes his case for troubling Gunjan.A dejected Samrat hangs up. Benji wonders why Samrat is fretting so much over this little thing, it'll be ok with time. And now that exams are over…he must relax and enjoy!

15th january


Nupur is furious when Gunjan tells her what Samrat did, and Gunjan confesses that she feels heartbroken because of this as she has never trusted anyone this much before- and this is why she has never really had any friends. Nupur consoles her and tells her not to worry as not everyone is like this- there are just a few bad apples in every lot. Gunjan feels slightly better after this. Meanwhile Samrat and Benji decide to come up with a simple plan for winning the forgival of the simple Gunjan.

At home, Mayank is studying when the phone rings. His mom picks up, and it is Diya. She is very amused by the way Diya acts and talks, and she invites Mayank to her New Year's party. His mom asks him if he'll go but he refuses, and his mom scolds him for not partying, having fun, meeting new people, etc... Mayank gets an idea of going to the party to meet new people... specifically, to find a partner for his academic meet. Mrs. Sharma is very amused to hear about his new competition with Nupur and teases him about how he's always talking about Nupur... And she asks him if he can think of 3 activities he can do without thinking of Nupur. Mayank tries but is not able to come up with anything, much to her amusement. She tells him to give her these three activities on a piece of paper.

The next day Mayank remembers what his mom asked him and says "by God"... only to realize again that he's thinking of Nupur! haha
Everyone's getting ready for the party in Diya's house... she has to go to out somewhere, but sees Nupur and Gunjan. She tells them that she has invited Samrat, which alarms Gunjan... she also tells that Mayank is coming, which alarms Nupur... Samrat calls Benji and checks up to make sure everything is going according to plan... Benji later teases Uday that if he doesn't get a kiss from one of his dates today, he will never get a kiss.

In a restaurant, Diya is waiting for somewhere. And then, a mystery man comes... we can't see his face though. Everyone in the restaurant is drooling over his looks. The two chat...

While getting ready for the party, Mayank thinks up of lots of activities, but each time he can remember Nupur somehow or the other. He leaves, telling himself to focus...

Nupur and Gunjan are getting ready for the party, and Nupur reassures her that it's a New Year with new things, so don't think about the past. Gunjan decides that she will be a new Gunjan this year, and Nupur tells her that even if it's a new year she will still be with her.

Samrat is ready for the party and says to himself that Gunjan had better get ready... because this New Year their friendship will surely be renewed, because there's a new Samrat in town!

January 19

The preparations for the party are in full swing. Mayank arrives at the party and is still in his three-things-not-connected-to-nupur quest and it is Nupur who opens the door for him! She's surprised to see him at the party. They have another repartee exchange!

The much hyped special friend of Diya is Guru and he makes an entry, leaving everyone surprised! But Diya's eyes are set on Samrat whose been missing from the party. Samrat decides to make a late entry, but is in constant touch with Benji to touch base with the situation at Diya's house as to how is Gunjan doing? Even as the rest wonder what is keeping him away so late... What is Samrat's plan?!

January 20

After the entry of the much anticipated special guest of Diya - Guru, who diya introduces as her boyfriend, he also manages to make a dud of himself leaving a seeting diya ho puts him in place!

She's worked up that the sole reason for her getting him is to make Samrat jealous, as isn't happening because where is Samrat? Mayank on the other side is looking for a partner for the pentathlon and realizing this, Nupur seizes the opportunity and has a girl called Ishika act as if she's the perfect partner for Mayank.

Mayank falls for the trap! Samrat is in touch with Benji by getting to know the happenings of the party. He finally makes his grand entry with the song he'd planned for Gunjan. But once the song gets over, Gunjan just rushes out of the party. Samrat is shocked to see Gunjan reduced to tears!
