Your true destination
I know most of the people who in their final year of graduation want to go for a job without thinking for future. I also know that some do it to be independent and most because of their ignorance or financial conditions of family. Let me discuss with you about my ideas of a favorite and good paying job for yourself. I am sure you are aware that a simple graduation degree cannot get you a dream job.
You shall have to go for a specialization course to qualify for a job in a good industry. For that, you shall have to search in yourself the basic interest and qualification to find out your field of interest but never take a decision without giving it a thorough look.
I know a boy who started a job just after his degree course because the background of his family was not very good and he wanted to support them. He started a job all right but he never was comfortable with that job due to low pay and no future whatsoever. That was a plain and simple job with not many chances to rise. He was confused and willing to look further as he was not at all convinced with his situation. He is in a very good position today because he took the right decision at right time with the help of his parents and friends.
He decided to go for a professional course and resigned the job. He had saved some money that helped him get admission in a reputed management institute of Gurgaon for a dual specialization course. He completed his two years’ PGDM with top grade and selected by a MNC in campus interview. He immediately started with almost three times the salary he was drawing previously in the beginning itself with scope of increments in future.
Now, this boy managed to get into the right groove at right time but there are innumerable people who are not that lucky due to lack of knowledge or eagerness to become an earner before completing their qualification to become a true professional. They join a job as soon as they complete their graduation and never get a chance to study further to become a better earner. They never get a chance to come out of the job because they become deeply involved and never manage to come out.
There is no shortage of jobs
There is no shortage of jobs for skilled people rather the big companies are looking out for them with good offers. I read it today itself that TCF is planning to recruit fifty thousand people this year while Infosys is looking for thirty-five thousands new employees. Likewise, every big company has plans to recruit more people according to its capacity and requirement but jobs are there for sure in every sector.
Plan your strategies
We should know our plans and set strategies well in advance because working on target, which is out of your reach, is not wise. Just have a look at these points –
1- You should know your capabilities before joining a particular course; never think beyond your limit.
2- Would you be able to meet the expenses because if you have no back up to cover the cost, you shall not be able to complete it and that would make you feel disappointed? You should have back up from your family members as plan two in case you need their help financially or in other related matter.
3- Search for proper scope of the course you have in mind not with current point of view but future aspects as well. Some of the courses sound good today but may loose their importance in near future. This is truer especially in cases of IT related courses.
You have your chances
If you are employed and looking for your opportunity to get a better job there is nothing to worry as you can always enhance your knowledge and qualification. You have the option of going for short-term courses or another degree from distance learning centers. This is a proven fact that you never get any thing from unseen targets but chances are that you would never reach to your desired destination if not very sure about your goals. Therefore make sure what are you looking for - firmly and surely.
You should know the problems you may face
Always keep an alternate ready if you are looking for a bright future because there is term we use in business circles called ‘Force Majeure’ that denotes to risks beyond our control. Some people call it a ‘contingency plan’ some others term these as plan-2 or back up plan. This is best to keep a back up plan to bail out in case of an emergency without wasting any time or loosing heart.
You must set a dead line
Please keep it in mind that this is money and nothing else that matters for whatever you are planning to do therefore you shall have to fix your priorities and deadlines. Once you have set your plans and dead lines keep a strict watch on them like Arjuna who kept his sight on bird’s eye. You must hit the bull’s eye to make it a perfect ten.
I know most people do not consider him a literary writer but I have big respect for Chetan Bhagat because of certain qualities in him. He knows about management, planning and has a good hold over public’s mind. I would like to quote him here not a literary person but as a successful person, who planned his own life in a way what he was trained and settled for. He says, “You get nothing overnight but you have to make your targets for them in phases.”
Go grab you success, achieve every thing on daily basis like a labor. This does not make a difference weather you are trying to learn a language, preparing for IAS, learning to play flute or whatever. However, this is for sure that you do not get success overnight but you have to complete those targets in phases- keep them making bigger once you achieve your smaller targets. Do every thing in planned and based on set strategic manner. Success is yours without fail -You know success and failure never meet; these two have no relation in between each other
