Food and water are essential for living beings. Similarly for happy and peaceful life everybody's oneness is essential. By living united and by co-operating with others, we understand each others happiness and sadness. This inspires the formation of helping nature towards each other. This itself is foundation of co-operation. On this co-operation's foundation lies arrangement of society. For example, farmers in villages help each other during cultivation of each other fields. In this no money is spent apart from their physical labor. In this way the method of helping each other is called as 'co-operation. Today this method is carried out in villages. By following same method if tasks are carried out on large scale then all rich and poor people would get benefited by it.
Villagers visit cities to shop for their daily requirements. They even sell things from villages into city. Villagers if individually go to purchase things in cities, they may get looted. All the villagers can unite together and decide what amenities they need to buy for that particular month. After that some intelligent person among them can go and buy those things for them from city. Then, they could get things for cheap prices. Rates levied would be appropriate. Apart from this they would get concession on their purchase. Similarly, if farmers unite among themselves and wheat, rice and other grains from villages are sold together, farmers would get more price for their grains. After cutting of grains if it is not sold immediately, instead if sold after few days then it would yield them more money.
Suppose if a farm is in need of money and he goes to a rich man of his village. Looking at his needs, rich man would demand ransom interest from the farmer. Rich man demands different interest rates from different individuals who are in need and exploits them. Poor farmers have to pay that particular amount of interest rate as they are left with no other option. To protect people from such greedy rich men co-operative banks have been set up that would give loans to farmers on reasonable interest rates. Loans taken from these banks could be returned back in the form of installments that could be paid monthly or on yearly basis. In this method interest rates are calculated on the remaining amount of loan and not the whole money taken as loan. In this way loan after every installment keeps on becoming less. Farmers can get necessary loan from co-operative land mortgage banks. They can pay installments on small or long duration. They pay yearly installments. In cities too co-operative banks are present in which loans are available on monthly installments. By this method, poor people get benefited.
One who are employed can deposit their income in these co-operative banks. Monthly deposits made in this way can help them in time of needs. This method of saving the money is very useful. In this way thousands of rupees can be deposited. This method is called as provident fund system. Today, due to unavailability of necessary day to day items people face problems. Businessmen take advantage of such conditions. They earn lots of money by collecting such amenities and thus demand for that particular items increases as it is not available easily. Then, these people sell that product at larger rates. Consumers Co-operative Societies have arrangements of selling all products on a reasonable rate. In such organizations, consumers need not worry of being cheated. Any product obtained in small quantities are also distributed genuinely without any cheating by this method and saved from disloyal greedy businessmen.
Agents keep an eye on the necessities of farmers. They take their advantage and whenever they get a chance, try to buy things from them at a low rate. Before their crops are cut these agents approach their doors. Producers Co-operative Societies store the crops of farmers. Suppose, sesame seeds get stored in these societies. After removing oil from sesame seeds, this organization tries to sell it in Consumers Co-operative Societies. By this farmers get appropriate price of their yield. They get saved by the trap of mediators. As per necessity this organization also gives loan to the farmers on their yield or crops. In this way, farmers get fruits of their hard work and are saved from being robbed by mediators.
As per the necessities of consumers, the organizations are run out. Producers Co-operative Societies take care of the necessities of farmers. Also there are certain organizations which are of multiple uses. They store all the yields of farmers. They convert this yield into such form which is consumable. For example, oil of sesame is removed and sold. Rice is separated from its husk, polished and sold. Soap-nut is ground into powder and sold. This helps farmers to earn more. These organizations also make certain things available to farmers like pesticides, salt, kerosene, farm related machinery etc..... Today, in each and every Indian state such organizations have been set up. Farmers cannot get a better service to sell their grains other than these organizations. Under Government's nation development and in general progress plans, these organizations have been working.
Co-operation system can also be utilized in another way. Suppose, a mill has to be opened. Farmers can buy shares and can collect necessary amount. Thus, farmers themselves become owner of the mill. Workers get paid for their labor. Also, benefit derived from bill is also distributed between them. In such mills, there will be no dispute between labor and owners.
Method of co-operation in this world helps poor and needy in all the ways and protects them from being exploited. It is a boon to middle class people.
