Open your mind and your notebook
To find new and fresh business ideas, you have to be open to suggestions. Always try to see the world in a new light, thinking of all the things we see around us which can be further improved with all the information we receive every day. And the best way to use it is to take advantage of the notebook. This advice applies to many different situations in life. A lot of people use it to plan their wedding, find ideas for articles for a blog or website or a newspaper or magazine, or even ideas for writing a book they have been planning for long.
The issue is that we can think of many ideas during the day. Some may be very good, and when you think about it, try to make a note of it somewhere to remember. Memory is very deceitful, and we have so a lot of things to attend to and so we are likely to forget many significant occurrences that take place during the day.
A solution can be to note down your business ideas in a notebook or diary, or rather on the iPhone, the Blackberry, or any other technological device so widespread today. Later, when we can find a more appropriate time, we can review the ideas calmly and think about each idea. It may so happen that an idea that we thought was great may not seem much, or a backwards idea in principle looked unimportant may have interesting implications.
Websites
Internet is an almost inexhaustible source of all kinds of ideas, and of course for business ideas. There are websites which are dedicated to present new and interesting ideas. The correct way to use these ideas is to simply reflect on the proposals that draw your attention. Think of features that could be put in place, which could have implications and you, can do differently from what is raised. Because getting accustomed to consider other ideas allows for association of concepts to think about new applications in various sectors of adaptations, or totally different positions.
The world closer
Another key point is to focus on what we know best. For example, nowadays there are very smart ideas related to technology, network applications, or applications for mobile devices that typically need for professional development. A person whatsoever in this world may have an idea, but it is very difficult to implement it if he do not have the technical skills and do not understand the implications of technology.
However, in our day to day world, we see even closest things do not work well or to our satisfaction. And the more we understand things, the more chance we have to find something that would allow any improvement needed. The business idea is to add value to the customer, and if we see that the present offer is incomplete, or that forces some disagreeable effort, or that prices are very high, we can reflect on ways to complement, simplify or offer cheaper products and services.
The other advantage of working with things we already know is that it will give us a lot of strength to launch if the idea is really good. Investors have more confidence in someone who has experience in the sector, and this knowledge will allow us to avoid many bad decisions from being taken and implemented.
The relative importance of the idea
A very important point that must be mentioned here is that the business idea may be relatively unimportant, unlike what many entrepreneurs may think. We tend to think you need to find something in which no one has thought before us. And what we usually think is to take away the fear of competition. In fact if I'm the first person to get all the customers then I'll get rich.
It is a wrong thinking. The entrepreneur is always in competition. If you invent a new product or service, even in the improbable event that this has not occurred to anyone before, if the idea is good and doing well, competitors will appear. And these will improve the offer. Google was not the first search engine, but till now been the best. Likewise Facebook was not the first social network. The first does not always win. The service that provides the best customer service does.
Therefore, to find something more original, we must focus on thinking about doing something that brings a lot of value to the customer.
Share
A scary thought derivative described above (take an entirely original) is the fear of sharing. We do not want to talk about our idea because we thought that if we discuss, as well, someone's going to steal our ideas. Obviously you have to maintain some privacy, but anyhow you need to share, not only with family, but also with professionals.
You may think that you have found a great idea, but does not want to fall into any implications and complications. It will be very worse if you come across these difficulties when you launched the business and that if our talks with experts to help us correct fails.
