MC,
You are absolutely right. When an article is read we should express our feelings there. But here it seems very rare. Some of my articles had become hot , but very poor in comment.Really author expects criticism also.
I used to read articles and put comments. But due to some software problems of boddunan (I think rectified now)I was not able to comment. So I stopped reading articles because it is like tying our mouth. Now when the problem solved I am little busy with works.

For you it might be one among the many comments..but for me it was the first comment i received for my work. Naturally there is a big difference in how we feel. :)

Good people. This is really interesting to know. It may be co-incidental but it is proved again that the words will motivate people. Great going.

Hello Abid and MC,
I too feel that the comments received for an article is far less when compared to the comments we are getting for polls. Sometimes for a poll you get 10 to 15 comments which is very difficult to see in articles. If i find some good article or something different i used to write comments. Can we think of some way to increase this? Any suggestions from you?

Meean,
I believe the basic reason for this difference, is in the length of the content. An article is lengthy whereas a poll is just a small idea.So people easily comment for a poll. But to comment for an article, they have to read the entire article, which most of them don't bother to do and without reading the full article naturally most people won't comment on it.
So the only way to get more comments for article is to have good members who can read and judge an article and comment on it.Most of the active members do this :)

Good comments really inspire. But I think comment should be not only praise but also point out shortcomings so as to enable improvement. The commentator may also add his own views there.

I agree with MC, even a short comment "I want to read more of your article" or something like that is a HUGE motivation to author!!!
(I take this opportunity for all those who have read and commented my articles)
one more thing: please don't comment for the sake of commenting, a good, honest comment after reading the article is worth more than 10 forsaken comment

It true that Comments in any article motivates the author to write more..It's really sad to see that most of the comments given are for just the sake of points but not reading the article fully....
