After waiting for decades for a road to be constructed , ladies from Daang village in Uttarakhand have decided to build a road by themselves taking care not to cut trees and also not taking any help from the local politicians ..They have also decided not to cast their votes to any politicians since no one has helped them so far ..

What is the choice if the government is insensitive. The womenbdesrve all support in their  efforts.

Hats off to these brave women of Uttar Kashi, who built a Road. all by themselves without waiting for the Government's help.

This is the case with most of our elected representatives who promise the moon and forget all about the after the election is over. We have something similar happening in a village close to Mangalore as well , where during monsoon a river tributary gets flooded and the entire village consisting of around 700 people gets cut off because they have no access other than go through a  round about route that takes them into forests and hills. Their plight esp the school going childrens plight is miserable during those months , later after the river water recedes they walk across the river bed .All that is needed is a bridge across and each time they were promised during election time. Now the villagers have boycotted elections and with the help of some donors building a walking bridge across the stream.

Don't underestimate the power of common women. Modern women is capable of doing anything which a man can do.

Exactly.  The thread was aptly named as woman power. If you go through the article many examples of Woman power can be noticed.

Given the right opportunities and encouragement women can perform as well or even better than men in some fields. However, there is a worrying trend taking place in our nation where in some fields like politics women are far more aggressive and set a very bad example ..

No doubt women are strong than men. This nobel deed is a slap on government. But it is not right decision not to vote, they have NATO option.

Of course ..But they may want to show their anger and distrust by deciding not to vote at all which will be much more effective in drawing attention!

Boycotting the election will not be so effective as is the initiative to build the road by themselves. Politicians are basically insensitivity.

Well it is true that the pain which the women bears in their life, we men not even can think also, I salute their strength and will-power.

Politicians are not only insensitive but they are opportunists too. Given a chance they will try to grab all the attention without extending any required help. Thus, it's a good call not to vote at all because they do not deserve it.

If they will not vote, their name from voter list may be deleted.

There have been several groups of women who have taken up.such causes and successfully fought for them. I know of a case in Bidar which is an extremely dry place in North Karnataka , facing severe water scarcity during summer. The villagers wanted a bore well to be dug but the authorities and the elected reps never bothered. Finally when it was revealed that funds had been collected for digging a well but never utilised, a few hundred ladies surrounded the concerned offices and thrashed a few of the office bearers.. Finally they made sure that the well was dug by keeping vigil and taking the initiative

NOTA would give the Voters the freedom of not electing any undeserving candidate,.

Deleting happens even without voting in our country.. however, voting and becoming a part f and political process loses meaning when t here is no reciprocation .

Voting is not compulsory why should the names be deleted.

Earlier, when ISRO put a sattellite into an orbit around Mars , the team  had 3 women scientists in the pivotal role and that really is a pride for all ..It was heartening to see that BBC had made a mention of them but I am yet to see any Indian press coverage of the same

You are right but some time we needs detail of voter list, if our name removed from it, we may be face some problems. For example if we want domecile certificate we need our name in voter list.

Is that so? I had got a domicile certificate long back without the voter ID..Now aadhar will probably take over as identification for everything. We need to have one single I'd proof rather than having too many , confusing Everyone..
