Salman Khan himself had asked for a fresh trial and the courts have now ordered a fresh trial where all the witnesses will be examined, so also evidence ... Probably the extra cost is not being considered and more importantly can a commn man have this luxury of pleading for a fresh trial ?

In several contexts I have held that working of our judiciary warrants a massive overhaul and may be India's standing in the comity of nation has suffered badly on this count!!
It again is an indicator that justice in India is not meant for the common man but only available for those who can throw money on such unnecessary trials! What was the court thinking when they ordered a fresh trial?

Oh that means the case will start as a fresh?.

I really wonder how can they do it when they have lots of cases pending and they are starting a case as a fresh case.

In India we have two sets of people - all are equal but some are more equal  and Salman,Sanjay and many others belong to the later category !!!

However painful that may sound it is an inescapable truth and that strikes at the very concept of justice!!

That's hard as there are zillion of people who expect a fair justice but for these two when every thing is crystal clear still they are not held for the crime and lawyers also try to find out the new ways so that they may escape imprisonment. Where is law then?., May be the justice also differ its different for different category people.

Our print and electronic media too make a big fuss out of these issues, they never care to highlight the plight of thousands of undertrials who have been rotting in jails for decades!!

Sadly yes, and this belief has graduated into conviction! If you have no money, you have no right to live here!! 'Garib Hatao' is the new mantra of Manmohanomics!!!

I feel sad as they focus on eliminating poor but don't work on eliminating poverty. If they work on eliminating poverty poor will automatically get eliminated.

Money definitely can do wonders in India.

For them a better idea would be to eliminate the poor , can see the way farmers commit suicide unable to bear the burden of poverty...does anyone these politicians care ? they only look after themmselves and their families and speak of erradicating poverty once in a blue moon when it is election time !

When they chant slogans of 'garibi hatao' they really mean Garibon ko hataon, that is why there is so marked lack of empathy on their part to the plights of the poor and oppressed!

Leave alone a hypocrite like Manmohan Singh, even the Left in West Bengal in its last phase of its disastrous rule, stubbornly refused to buy the fact that the people of Lalgarh - a tribal-dominated area and where Maoist wrought havoc taking full advantage of this terrible impoverishment - were actually eating worms!!! And they were ridiculing them!!! And the results- you know it all!!

Give him some credit for his profound understanding and knowledge of the operation of Indian legal system. A fresh trial means another decade of freedom!!!

This is a tactics to curve the case in legal way. This is the reason why justice is delayed and many cases are still lying unsolved somewhere.

I agree he is a big hypocrite! Additionally, there is also the community in Bihar that catches rats and eat them as their staple food, the mooshar community! It is utterly disgusting that in spite of advancement in technology etc. there are tribes and communities who still have to resort to their original means of sustenance! Really sick!

If this is so then Salman Khan has killed black deer for his dinner is not at all bad. It is much better than eating insects and rats. :woohoo: :silly:
