Mamata Banerjee's clarion call seeking to forge a larger opposition unity against Demonetization has evoked tepid response. The entire country is supporting the present Government. In this scenario, what Mamata can do ? an exercise in futility.

When chaos, Maoism and stone pelting has come down post demonetization, our opposition are trying to fill up that gap by protests, rallies and futile call for Bharat Band. They look forward to drama and chaos each day

What Bharat Bandh by the opposition could gain ?  Because of the lukewarm response, they made themselves a butt of laughter..

Bandh call was given by Communists only. However  Mamata led a massive protest rally in Kolkatta. In other places also protest rallies were held.Too early to dismiss them as not having any effect. Should the opposition not do its role?

Since when has it become desperate For a political party to state that it would like to throw out another political party. No one including whose bhakta you are has a divine right to rule in perpetuity. It is politics in practice.

Opposition has only one work. That is disrupting the Parliament. Defaming Modi Government. But they can never succeed .

When someone who is autocratic and is a leader of a party that has just about been given the status of a national party, and has been involved in corruption and scams like Mamata Banerjee takes a  pledge to oust Mr Modi who has been elected with absolute majority by the people of this  country to lead a nation, it sounds anything but a joke. It also shows how insecure and angry she  is at losing all that she had stashed away.

TMC was declared a national party just a couple of months ago , and that is the reason for this arrogance !

BJP got 30% votes only in2014 elections so is it a national.party?

Mamata Banerjee is going to hold rally at Lucknow today against Demonetization of Currency

As usual, The opposition, trying to employ  all possible tricks to defame the Government. I am sure, Once again the Opposition will cut a sorry figure before the Nation.

For any political party to be called a national party the major criteria is to have won 6% of votes in the general election. As far as BJP is concerned it has been a national party ever since its inception in 1980, having won 7.7% of the votes in 1984 and steadily increasing its vote share to 31.4% in 2014 .

If we are supporting 200+ parties in this country than 30%+ is not a bad share of votes.

So 30%+ will rule over 70%+ with impunity and not listen to them ?

Technically it is national party, but TMC can't won single seat out of Bengal.

So 30%+ will rule over 70%+ with impunity and not listen to them ?..

NDA has got nearly 40% of combined vote share in 2014 .However,  since 1999 Congress party has never had vote shares above 28% , so if 28% could rule, scam and loot with impunity , I guess 40% can definitely try and reform a rotten system left over by the previous regime and the rest of the 60% of the people too will listen ..

@ anil...the criteria for a national party is to win from at least 3 states and have a vote share of 6% and above and TMC has one seat each from Manipur, Tripura ,  Arunachal Pradesh and of course West Bengal !
