What do you say guys? That would save cyber world a little more space with Gs Jis etc. So from now on I would call every one with their first names only

are you taking the super power of a moderator? :cheer: :cheer: :P
That's a very good idea! It brings us all on the same platform!!! :) I never attach jis etc. to anyone even knowing they are much older than me, probably still not recovered from informal BPO culture!

Actually Kalyani, he has already passed his half century mark and most members here are younger than him, except Gulshanji.
At least now, he is aware of his age. ;)
So nice :P

I too have spent almost 25+years in corporate world and aware about every culture but what I feel that this is better to go with the trend to not to look different.

No my grand son (my daughter's son) in my profile picture represents me here so I never felt that I am elder than any one. And moderator is as good a member here as a Kaiser....sorry Caesar.

I know Sandhya he is 51 but I am not at all uncomfortable addressing him, Gulshan, or Usha or even Chinmoy by their first names! Even Abid is older, above 45 at least I think!

I think I already spoke about this on some other discussion..First of all here none of us have seen each other and know for sure about anything including age except what we have revealed, so where is the question of respect ,reverence with regard to age etc...We have an online name and one should use that instead of adding on what you think is right, thats my feeling ..

I hope i won't sound further disappointing giving you the exact details. People generally call me suny on almost 20 different sites.

No, not at all. Abid is just 40 or 41. He has 3 small kids. :cheer: . Malappuram boys marry early. Some boys even marry at 16 ;)
If I am able to get old PMs, I shall tell you his correct DOB with time. I have predicted his character according to his star :silly: :cheer: :cheer:
That will maintain a uniformity on the site I think, I mostly referred to everyone by their first names only. I have noticed that here mostly have little kids on their display pictures and my picture seems the oldest of them all :woohoo: .

Which phone do you use Asha? Because they are determining the address by phones these days and not by looks, not even by the color of hair. If you have old type phone- you are an aunt.

But I said sorry na...  You can read it there.

I do not think that using 'G' of 'jee' before any name is necessary. We write in English. 'G' or 'Jee' is non English. Better avoid this. The tendency to use 'Jee' even after English words looks funny. e.g., unclejee, auntiejee etc.

I am reminded of an episode. Once a reporter was told not to use 'jee' and 'Mr.' both for a person. So, when he used 'jee' after a name, no need to use 'Mr. before his name. similarly, when he used Mr., he should not write 'jee' with their names.

Just imagine how he dealt with names like Chatterjee, Banerjee, Mukherjee.

I am comfortable with 'Gulshan' without adding 'jee' But please do not forget to add after 'Chinmoy Mukher(jee).

Sorry Gulshanji
I can't call you Gulshan. I prefer to call you as 'Sir' than Gulshanji :cheer:

You would not be surprised to note because you already know that this was done by Brits only who converted Mukhopadhyay in to Mukharjee and Bandhopadyay to banerjee.
