A good song is born when both words and tunes blend nicely. But I have always noticed that the person who has penned the words and given words to singer's lips has always got the least credit. Is it right??
Is he getting the credit actually he deserves? What do you think?
I think lyricist should get more preference than actors on screen and equal to that of its singers, if his words are really worthy. :)

An average person goes to a cinema for entertainment. He has no reason to bother about names of all those who contribute to success of the movie. The actors an actresses are on screen and so they get appreciation from people. Others like music director, lyricist, camera men, fight composer and even financier, distributor, accountant give valuable contribution and support. But they are in back ground and an average person is not aware of them. This happens in all spheres of life. When you go to bank, you are in contact with front office staff and you do not get any credit to back office persons. When you go to restaurant, you do not give credit to cook and other staff and recognize only the waiter who serves you.
There is no issue of what is right or wrong. Things happen like this only.

Yes they should be paid better as they have made the song but this is irony that the play back singer who is taught that what he/she has to do is paid more. :( May be song is more recognized by the singer's voice that's why they are paid more. :)
That's true. That's how it going. Almost nobody even cares about who is the writer of the song?
These times are glamour and publicity times. Now only those appearing on stage, small and big screen are applauded by public. Good poetry written in text us not appreciated. But the stage poets are honored more not for their poems or wording thereof but for way of presentation on stage. Now there are no poets like Jai Shankar Prasad or Nirala. Now we have poets who perform on stage. even borrowed and useless poems are okay if presented well. Same is case with lyrics. The voice is of playback singer and face is of actor/actress. Face counts more, voice counts a little and the composer is unnoticed. However, every professional knows this and is reconciled to reality. General public may not appreciate the lyricists so much but those keenly interested in poetry, songs and music appreciate. This suffices.

that's true in most of the cases we always appreciate song and its singer but never care to know even who wrote the song. :(
"Kabhi kabhi mere dil mein"...one of the most romantic songs of Indian cinema.
Why is this song remembered till now....for music or singers or words?
I will say, definitely because of its powerful words, this song has become such a huge hit. Isn't it?
If you really ask me i remember it for singer as MUKESH sang it beautifully but the words are also beautiful but i still don't know who wrote it and i bet many of the people don't know it. :)

Personally I love Hasrat Jaipuri and Sahir the most.....I can add Majrooh Sulthanpuri, Kaifi Azmi, Naksh lalpuri also
Best of Shanker-Jaikishen were penned by either Hasrat or Sahir

True people don't like to listen to Vividbharathy these days. :( I remember those days when we used to wait for BINAKA geet mala hosted by Ameen Sayani.
I have only heard about that. Actually I became addicted to Hindi music at my 10th standard or so. Earlier also, I watch films, chitrahaar, Rangoli etc.
I also used to watch Chitrahar and Rangoli :) .We used to wake up early on SUNDAYS only to watch Rangoli.hehehe...
Today also I watched Rangoli....today was Aamir special.....since it is his birthday.
Nowadays no other option to see old songs in TV...only new songs. Isn't it?
