Kids are better taught without a stick!! With a stick,it becomes a sticky business!!

Not only they become careless about stick and the one who is doing so but they will become more rude and and would behave in absolutely indifferent manner.

I never used even a bad glance rather she taught me how to quit smoking. She is papa's doll my only daughter. She knows things better than I do.

If we much scold children even out of limit it will ofcourse it will make them imprudent and they will less scare from the stick beat.

Stick is not to teach. Teaching methods need be effective. There is an old proverb- spare the rod, spoil the child. This is related to discipline rather than teaching. Rod should normally be spared but may be used in cases of gross misconduct like smoking, using vulgar language, not attending class. There are also alternatives to rod.

We should never beat our children and make them study. If they are not at all listening to our words and behaving irresponsible then we need to use stick that to very light. to my feeling we should never use stick while teach. We teach children with love. If they are not listening we should make them get interest and listen and study.

I feel the best teacher is a teacher who make the children to get interest in the subject and study on themselves. then there is no need to use stick

Using sticks for teaching is really a worst thing. Nowadays using sticks are restricted on schools. :)

i dont know whether there is a need of stick or not but this made me remember of dixit mam.she was my class teacher when i was living in uttaranchal and was in nursery or kG i guess.she was so badi still hate that lady.she used to beat us with scales and that too not on palm but behind palm means on opposite side.just imagine a student of nursery class how will that kid feel.i myself was victim of her cruelness.the sister there used to say that she dont have kids and even she dont like kids a lot thats why she do so.later on sister terminated her.

when i was small i always use to say to my maternal grandmother that when i will complete my study i will join police force and will arrest her.now i laugh on these words of mine.but really that was like real cruelness with kids.

No never, according to me it should never be done...Using stick or any kind of physical violence at school or at home should be totally condemned.I have brought up 3 children and though they have driven me up the wall many times and I have screamed at them, I have never used any kind of physical violence...It is not needed to discipline children, on the contrary you are encouraging violence and physical abuse and they begin to feel that doing the same to others is acceptable..

Scolding may somewhere work but beating with stick will may make child more stubborn.

actually if we will make them understand the difference of right and wrong they wont repeat it again and hence no need of using stick..

Many people say, we should teach our kids only with love, not with a stick. If we scold and beat them regularly, they will loose the fear of stick. Is it true? What is your opinion? What is your strategy for teaching your children?

I think where we have to teach our child with love,there we should teach them with love and where we should be strict,there we should be strict.
Now,it depends on ourself,where we are teaching or child with love and where with Strict.

Spare the rod, spoil the child- This is age old rule. Rod may be used sparingly but cannot be totally avoided. Punishment for offences and mistakes is must from childhood to adulthood.

But punishment does not mean beating angrily. There must be proportion between offence and punishment. A child must know as to what are the offences for which he will be punished. Punishment must be neither too severe nor too light.

No its not at all necessary to have a stick as kids are too soft they could be easily persuaded for anything if you do it with love. :)

Yes, there is no need to use stick to make a kid to study or control. We should not beat our children. We should make them know what mistake they are doing and what is good and what is bad.

Children will become more angry and won't study. They will feel disturb,when you will take Stick.
I think fear is important,because discipline is such that you can learn until fear is there.
But,try to be polite with children.
