Is T20 format doing harm to the Cricket?

Yes I am agreed with your both three points Mr. Meean. Every Play has its own excitement so we can't say that this play is harming another play of same type.

Mr. Satish you are right. your views are also right, you did't said anything wrong. In T20 matches a player not get enough time or overs to show their true class. But see one thing a team which makes hardly 250 runs or near about 200 or some times less than 200 making 200 easily in just 20 overs. this makes so much excitement, and making players so extend their playing capability in less overs.

dear you have written one wrong line " If five bowlers are used, each bowler will have 5 overs. In 5 overs they cannot take many wickets. "

If five bowlers will do bowl then they will get 4-4 hours each. not 5. its a 20 20 over game not 25 25. Why are you saying that a bowler can't take so many wickets. A player must have the capability ok. It doesn't matter which type of match he is playing

One day comes when some other change will come because of 20-20. one day format can be changed like sachin said previously to make it to 25-25 over session.

so when public need to something new then it will change.

we can not see see same movie format like old movie so in new movies lot of things have changed that's why public attached still with movies .

so if cricket will not produce new things then public interest will less day by day.

so whatever things done in cricket as per my point of view its all right.

when it will get 25-25 then say. What is present say according to that not in future. If sachin said this means not ICC will change it.

About T20 world cup according to be it will be after every 2 yrs. Just one year is very short time for the winner team of world cup for handling the status of top team So i think min. 2 year should be given for the winning team for being top.

Mr. Das, Mr. Sutar, Satish, Santosh, Lohit, Meean, Vigneh all of you have came with some advantages & disadvantages of T-20.
Here is what I feel...
20-20, Test, or let it be One Day Cricket.. they all are different in their own And they have their own viewers category.
About T-20, I think it has evolved to make the game more popular. And it has done it. It had attracted new viewers towards it. Those people who didn't liked watching cricket have started watching cricket.
And that is why 2007's T-20 Final played between India & Pakistan has received record TRP(Television Rating Point) of 19.6 per cent.
People started liking Yuvraj for his Six 6'es. And girls falled in love with him..
It made cricketers STAR....

If we say it the game of luck...
Then the same applies to One Day & Test Cricket.. Just today(India Vs Srilank 2nd ODI) Srilanka dropped 5 chances to out Dhoni... It luck :) Isn't it?

In cricket, I think The mistake done by one team is called as a LUCK of other team....

This game requires More Energy, Quick Thinking, And High Spirit.
The advantages cannot of one think cannot be termed as disadvantage of other....

I don't agree that T-20 is harming cricket. It is just a new format of cricket and people are enjoying that. People always like to see something new in every field whether it is cricket or films.So ICC has introduce a new concept T-20. Its full of enjoyment and also decision comes very fast.
ODI and Test cricket is still very popular.

I am agree with you Mr. Ronark . T20 is not harming cricket. Just like a new film this new format is also entertaining everybody..

T20 has became the most popular form of cricket now a days because of the speed of game.In this fast moving world,every one need speed and T20 has given a new matter of speed to cricket.

It has also given a new level of excitement and thrill to the audience.
The thrill of test may be different from that of a one day match.Likewise T20 has also its own thrill.

Another reason is that T20 cricket is more colourful than other forms of cricket.People are more attracted towards it.

Coming to the topic.. Is T20 harming cricket?
How can we say that? Cricket is not looosing its audience.
But its a fact that due to the popularity of T20 , test cricket was badly affected.

It can be clearly observed that international teams had decreased the no.of test matches in their schedule.T20 had its impact on test cricket.But test also have its own thrill and spirit.

Whatever the form.. Cricket has not losen its audience...

We cannot completely say that T20 is like a practise session of one day match.Both have its own specialities and differences.In both games,the strategy of playing teams will be different.

We cannot use the game plan of a one day match for a T20 match.Both are good in its own platform.

Cricket has accepted its new form...

If T20 has more viewers than others,board will not try to limit the no.of matches.Because,more viewers means, more financial benefit.

why did you says that , "totaly wrong T-20 increasing day by day ." ?

T20 has gained lot more audience in a short period of time.It is true that the game plan of strategy of T20 games will be different from that of a test match or one day match.When there is only 20 overs in the hand,batsman cannot take too much time to settle on the ground and also he has to take an aggressive form of batting to put a good score on the board.

we can't completely say that T20 became popular because test match has loosed its popularity.But its more correct that,because of the popularity of T20,test has loosed its popularity.

How can we say that T20 cannot make good players?

T20 cannot be treated as a matter of luck rather than work.Both games have its own game plan and format.Players should work like that if they want to win.
T20 is also having its own importance.cannot say that T20 is a game of luck only.

I agree to lohit seth that T20 is making the cricket more live.It has been seen that the audience is enjoying the fast moving game very much because here the destiny is written in very few time.
Audience can enjoy cricket with full excitement with very less time in its own way and that made T20 more popular..

We can't say that there is a fight between T20 and one day match.Due to the upcoming of T20,test had affected the most.One day match had not loosed much,one day match have its own audience.Its a different level of game spirit.

We can't say that T20 will not affect test match because ODI didn't made much harm to test.
The scenario has changed.T20 is affecting a lot on test matches.

Also you have said that as for the players,time is less,strain will be less.Its not true.Always the strain is there because they have to put up a good score in the board with very less time.So,strain is always there.

Apart from a true class cricket,T20 is more concentrating on an entertainment level.It always tries to provide entertainment for audience.Cheer groups etc. are best examples.
As,entertainment is more in T20,people are more attracted towards T20.That's all...

Lohit,

Its right that all forms have importance and its own excitement.We can't ignore one for another.But its users right to see what he likes.
It forces the players score more in less time.So,it will improve the of batsman.Also,we can't say that the no.of wickets taken will be less in T20.Nothing like that.Cricket is a game and anything can happen.
More chance is for that when batsman is playing so aggressively,chance for loosing wicket is more.
