Absolutely right,If one will be diseased, he would do with everyone the same. and If one will be saved, he can make thousands safe. Only then ones country can progress, and India can fight from many of its problems.

I think so . let us see what will happen in future.
Yes Sex Education should be Made Compulsary in Schools.

Because,

Schools have an important role to play in their capability to impart effective sex education to adolescents. Research reports have show that when imparted sex education to these young adults in schools it is possible to push back the age at which these children may experiment with sex. These programs also have the potential to encourage these youngsters to use a condom during their first sexual experience.

However, although schools in the cities and suburbs of India are coming up with innovative health and hygiene workshops that deal with issues like health foods and usage of sanitary napkins, the introduction of comprehensive sex education in schools on a regular basis still remains an subject that principles and the teachers think will bring in a raging controversy surrounding them. The schools and the existing education system in India seemed to be very much biased against conducting such workshops and programs within the school premises, even if they happen to accept the idea in principle.

According to WHO the sex education to children ideally should be imparted at the age of 12 years and above. Even if the records say about 34% of the HIV affected persons are in the age group of 12 to 19 years.

:)
But before stepping into that program there are things that should be kept in mind as:

1.What r the correct methods of educating young students.

2.how should a teacher make students aware..

yes i think sex education should be given to students in school

:) :)

I think the very correct method can be, to counsel separately boys and girls for twice a month, so that they can clarify their doubts easily and in one go without hesitating.

Secondly, teacher first should himself leave the hesitation of teaching and should be expert of that field and should guide the students in all way.
Hai

I agree with the topic.

In this modern world child born today has the knowledge of his father. It means that, we learn from them many things. So it is must for them to know about sex. Even if they are not taught they themselves involve in some mall practices, and we all know what it is and explore about it. This applies only for childrens who are in urban places. But in rural they have know knowledge of it and they are infected. Its because they attend only schools and they about the safety precautions. So, by teaching about sex in the schooling is the best way for preventing that.

In till December 2009 33 million peoples are affected with HIV/AIDS and 2 millions of them are under age of 15.

In 2008 2.7million people were newly infected and 430,000 were under 15.

Every day more than 7,000 people are infected and more than 300 per hour 280,000 of them are under age 15.

From this statistical data it known that young children are infected and so Sex Education should be made compulsory. Bad things reach more easily than good. Prevention is better than cure. So for preventing children from getting infected they should be taught about sex.

So sex education should be made compulsory for the school children and for youngsters too

In National channel a serial program used to be telecasted on sunday night at 8.30pm which teaches about the prevention method and the treatment ways. Government is taking steps also for prventing them.

Make a healthy world.
I think this is one of the most popular topic till now. This alone is showing our interest in sex-related issues.

I also agree that sex education needs to be made compulsory in schools from may 9the std.

As far as teaching is concerned, teachers can ask the students to study privately and approach her/him in case of doubts.Seeing the statistics given by Mr. B Namadev, it becomes obvious that sex education is the need of the day. Also, any cases of viewing porn material "just for fun" or doing things "just out of curiosity" might decrease if sex education is included in a proper manner.
Every human activity should be conducted in a purposeful manner. Education is aimed at preparing for successful life. Education is nothing but preparing future citizens of the nations. Education needs to contain all aspects necessary to prepare boys and girls for making them good and responsible nationals. Hence, all aspects of human activities need be included in education. Sex is undoubtedly one aspect that everybody encounters in life. A good and orderly sex life and decent sex/ gender behavior and attitude can be developed by better schooling. The students need be taught that sex is an important part of not only human but also all animals. The entire living population owes its existence to sex. The instances of rape, indecent sexual behavior and gender discrimination can be checked by proper sex education. Ideally, sex education should begin at class sixth. The educations can design the syllabus and draft the education material in a non offensive manner. The teachers also need to be trained for the purpose. Sex is not less important than eating and drinking. Just as we need health dietary habits, similarly sex. Sex is no more taboo.
Talking of statistics,
Have a look on polling done on Boddunan, 17 people voted, 64.7% Boddunan members feel the need of sex education in India.

This shows that most people are aware of what is going wrong in this country & feel the need of change in order to educate the students about sex.

so there must be sex education.
With a teen pregnancy rate that is nearly twice the rate of that in other developed countries, many parents rightfully worry what can be done. Interestingly, despite a recent government push for abstinence only sex education is schools, teen pregnancy statistics, and teen sex statistics remain in line with trends.
As a result, 80 percent of parents think that contraception and protective practices (such as condom use) should be taught as part of a comprehensive sex education course.
The teen sex stats that we see today should serve as a reminder that teenagers need to be guided. They need education and knowledge of what's available in order to help combat teen pregnancy and STDs. Teenagers should understand that there are physical, psychological and emotional effects that come with sex. They should also be taught that the choices they make now can affect them later in life. But this teaching should not be done with fear.
Friends,
The sex education is compulsory in India. But it should not be just to inform about the use of condoms, how to practice safe sex before marriage etc.Education is for culturing the man.He/she should become a pearl after getting education.Instead if he is doing wrong things on account his education that education is good for nothing. So in my view this sex education should be imparted with emphasise on moral side.
Good morning to all,
The topic is becoming hot.During my BEd studies also we had to study about imparting sex education in schools. The reason for imparting sex education was not for safe sex but for the wellbeing of society.Only a sex educated society can see its members as a human.Only such persons can control his sudden emotions.Only those can behave well to opposite sex .The present sexual harrasments , sexual crimes and other bad news coming out are due to the lack of this sex education.

Topic is indeed becoming hot on Forum I think this GD has more replies then any othe one.
Yaa, you are absolutely right that the purpose of sex ed is not merely telling about safe sex but its about telling youths in advance what is right and what is wrong for them.
Perhaps treating teenagers as adults, with respect for their intelligence and decision making ability can help where other methods have so far failed to stem the tide of teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases and this can only be imparted through inculcating a good knowledge in them.
Yes as Lubna said many of us had the false thought that sex education is describing safe sex.Actually throgh sex education means making the child aware of the changes occuring in him as he ages.If not properly made aware he/she may feel that something is going wrong in his/her body.Being not able to discuss this wrong thing with others he/she will keep silence. It may lead to severe mentel problems also.

So at each stage of his/her development he/she should be made aware of the physiological changes taking place in body.Actually a biology teacher can handle this topic very nicely. But the psychological aspects regarding the feelings, thoughts and dreams during this period should be dealt by a person qualified in it .

India will become The Golden Bird of our Dream again
