It's the only time such incidents are capitalized and used for their respective advantages by opportunists. Nearly 130 Academics from around the world have written an open letter to the VC, HCU. They expressed their shock and anguish from the suicide of a Dalit Scholar, Rohit   The most worst thing is that the award wapsi gang has again get activated. One of the person decided to return the award which he got from the university, because he feels intolerance. Selective secularism is very dangerous to our country. Selective secular start doing their activity without knowing the reality of incident.

In these days of rampant atrocities on women, it becomes necessary for women to save themselves. We all know, how women are being trapped and raped. This is happening in every part of the World.

Here the point to be seen is, how diplomatically, without saying NO to the guy, she saved herself. And that the guy who asked for a nude snap did not realize the smartness of the woman and will be waiting for eternity to see the Nude of the woman. Younger generation is learning the lessons to save themselves from such hawks. I cannot but appreciate the smartness of the woman.

We are entering in 21st century and our politician are trying to divide us on the basis of Dalit or Non - Dalit. A student from Dalit community committed suicide because of college took action against him for doing wrong activities. Then started the vote bank politics, leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal started going to Hyderabad and tried to put all allegation of the incident on the center government. Media is also reporting as our current government is against low cast people.          Now the question is that many students in different universities commit suicide due to various reasons, but no politician bother about it. But if a Dalit student dies than all try make benefit out of it. Why the students should be divided on the base of caste or creed? http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/hyderabad/Hyderabad-univ-VC-threw-out-12-Dalit-students-in-2002-allege-students/articleshow/50647247.cms

The people of new generation are too smart and cunning. They know very well how to deal problems that come in their way. We cannot see this smartness in old generation people.

Kalyani Nandurkar said thank you to vijay for his/her reply to the topic Do you agree with Swami Vivekananda's particular saying?.
Swami Vivekananda was an inspired person who wanted Hindus to be proud of their religion in an environment where we were under the British and had low self esteem. To hold him responsible for caste system still being there is very unfair observation.. The ills of Hinduism are too deep entrenched and one person cannot remove them.

This is the technological aspect of the generation gap. Older people consider themselves smarter than younger lot but cannot realise the fact that the younger can outsmart them any time.

In 1947, the Indian National Congress Party opted for a secular republic in preference to a Hindu Rashtra. The Congress party was then headed by 2 leaders Nehru and Gandhi who wanted to win over the Muslims. Gandhi in particular had a great desire to be a mascot for Muslims as well and was thus not averse to stooping low to placate them. This also rubbed off on  the second line leadership and a culture developed to pander to minority issues in the hope that they will accept being part of a national identity. Unfortunately Gandhi failed and despite a million acts of appeasement he was never recognised as a leader by the Muslims and Jinnah often contemptuously  referred to him as a "Hindu Leader". Nehru had always Muslim leanings and many rumors float around about him and his father Motilal Nehru. These have a meaning as it shaped his thinking and in the ultimate analysis the Hindus were put in the back seat of the republic.  Part of the problem was the docile nature of the Hindu  religion itself that made its followers more accommodating than combative and thus Frank Moraes coined the world " The meek and Mild Hindu". This meekness has manifested itself in many ways and also in everyday life. There are many examples to show that though Gandhi and Nehru were inclined to support the cause of the minority, the Hindus themselves at no stage displayed any single minded devotion to their cause  or issues affecting them. An example that comes to mind is the Hindu reaction to the paintings of M.F. Hussain. This man who was a painter of some standing, depicted Hindu deities in a very demeaning manner. He showed the Prophets mother, and others fully clothed, yet he showed Hindu Deities unclad  and in the nude. The point to note is that despite such an affront no Hindu propagated a prize money for his head. There was no violence anywhere and except for a few sporadic sessions of burning his paintings nothing much happened. This shows the tolerance of the Hindu. The point to note is that there were no cases of burning Muslim houses and Hussain's houses in Mumbai were left untouched. Needless to say no Muslim or any Muslim organization thought it fit to reprimand Hussain or support the Hindus. In return we had sermons that acts of Hindus against Hussain were a sign of intolerance. The above attitude of the Hindus can be contrasted with the action at the Azad Maidan riots in Mumbai. The rioters who were from the minority community desecrated the Amar Jawan Jyoti,  a war memorial dedicated to the first freedom struggle of 1857. The net result during this riot was that 2 people died and 54 were injured and that included 45 policemen. Property worth Rs 2.74 crores was damaged. Worse not a single Muslim leader or organization condemned this vandalism. Akbarudin Owaisi is an intelligent man, yet he talks all rubbish about Hindu gods in his speeches. He sometimes mocks them. Yet this man roams around the country articulating his views and nobody from the Hindu community has ever asked for his hanging for uttering lies and profanities. The Hindu community is in fact cowed down in their own land. They are perhaps gripped with a psychosis of fear as they find their own leaders from Lalu Prasad to the Congress  championing the cause of the minority. This has resulted in the minority community being emboldened and resorting to strong arm tactics everywhere, knowing fuly well that the Hindu reaction whether led by BJP or Congress will be a muted one. Thus the arson and looting at Purnia and Malda is food for thought. Muslim mobs with a  purpose  fired bullets at Hindu homes, beat up police, burned vehicles and looted Hindu shops. It was a preplanned carnage and the icing on the cake was a statement by the Hindu Chief Minister of Bengal Mamta Banerjee that this riot was nothing,  but a clash between some locals and the BSF. One can't get sillier than that. These riots were activated by some sleeper cells of Muslim  extremists in India, notably Hyderabad and was funded by the Muslim world. India as I had earlier written is labelled a soft state and the fact is that it's 100% true. The fault lies with the Hindus themselves as most believe in the inevitability of life and death and are content to let things pass. This approach led to their complete subjugation by Muslims for 900 years. One wonders how a race which constituted 95% of the population of the land allowed itself to be ruled by a alien force consisting of just 5% of the populace. The fact is the Hindus had lost the will to oppose and fight. Part of this belief was fostered by the ills of Hinduism and the failure to present a cohesive force to the invader. This resulted in  defeats galore and that further demoralized the Hindus. After 1947, one  expected a change. However we now know that Sardar Patel was sidelined and died soon after independence. ( Read Last Days of the British Raj by Leonard Mosley). With Patel out the way Nehru had a field day and charted a  secularism that literally meant appeasement of the minority. He did not follow the Directive Principles of the Constitution for a common Civil Code and allowed the Muslims to be ruled by the Sharia in personal law.  He failed to look beyond his nose and observe that the Portuguese in Goa  had abolished the Sharia and applied the Uniform Civil Code to all and sundry including Muslims. The Muslims accepted the diktat there and perhaps they would have accepted a common civil code in India when the republican constitution was ushered in 1950. But, now too much water has gone down the river and one cannot see how equality of all religions can be restored. Secularism really means a freedom to worship ones religion or practice his belief. It does not mean that a community is to be pampered. Another case is the ban on beef. Many Hindus are also going around saying that such a ban  is a sign of intolerance. They forget that 56 nations in the world have banned the slaughter of pigs and pork. Nobody has raised a finger on that. Yet if ONE nation bans cow slaughter, a hue and cry is made. One gets confused as to what real and what is artificial. India missed the bus when a Hindu Rashtra was not declared in 1947. After all the division of India was on the basis of the "Two Nation Theory". The history books and Jinnah trumpet this and the fact is Gandhi and Nehru also accepted this religious divide. Who can contest it ? The future is stark and unreal. Justice Katju is clear that India will have a revolution. Maybe be it will be 200 years late, but the Augean stables have to be cleaned and there is no way it can be done.

Background The United States of America is a nation of emigrants. Almost the entire population of America is made up of people who migrated from other parts of the world, however the majority were white and mainly from the Anglo Saxon World and Europe. The American population of emigrants was swelled by the import of black slaves from Africa. These slaves were brought in to run the massive plantations, particularly in the Southern part of the union. The African slave remained a second class citizen of the Union for almost 250 years. The color also led to racial segregation, with the whites sometimes treating the African slaves worse then animals. Times changed and the Bill of Rights removed slavery, but the undercurrent of hostility towards the black remained. This racial divide is still very much there, though one can say that the lot of the black man has never been better than what it is today. America is thus a racial society and no bill of rights can overturn that. It's something similar to the caste system in India, where despite legislation and laws, the caste system still flourishes and divides Indian society. In the 21st century America has to face a new phenomenon in the shape of Islamic militancy. Islamic people never migrated to America in large numbers and are thus a unknown commodity. But the few who have migrated have set up hovels of there own and have not displayed any allegiance to the tenets of the American state. Thus we have cases of terror acts like 9/11 and the recent California killings that have roused the Americans. Worse the US Army and other arms are beset by internal schisms  with the Muslim soldiers objecting to the wars on Muslim nations and going berserk and killing their own comrades. If one adds to the fact that the US economy carries a 3 trillion dollar deficit and is having a high unemployment rate, one can conclude that it's fertile ground for a man to rouse the Americans and put forward his vision of progress and prosperity. In such a scenario Donald Trump has emerged. He articulates the fears of the common American who is looking for a solution to the present economic ills and Trump has brought to the fore the threat of militant Islam and the weak role of President Obama, who he feels has let the American guard down against the Muslims, because of his latent Muslim beliefs. He  has started a whirlwind campaign which advocates severe restrictions on Muslims coming to the USA. This finds a ready clientele as the African Negro is no longer an issue. The Thoughts of Donald Trump The Muslims have only them to blame for the paranoid fear they have generated in the USA. Americans forget that more men and women die from accidental use of guns and revolvers than in terror deaths. But Muslim emigrants by targeting the common American in the hope of a total victory and spread of Islam have baited the tiger. The Americans and their leaders are not scared of al Qaeda or ISI and their ilk and have closed ranks against the Muslims. This can be seen with the support that Donald Trump has collected among the Republicans. As things stand he is the front runner and Ted Cruze the second man is at least 25 points behind him. Donald Trump has fired the common American and there is every chance that he will get the Republican party nomination. The refrain now is that Donald is the only man who can beat Hillary Clinton who is likely to be the Democratic nomination for President. In the recent Presidential nominee debate on TV between the main contenders for the Republican nomination, Trump stuck to his guns. He repeated during the debate, that he would not allow Muslims to enter the USA and those who were in the USA need to be racially profiled. He justifies this by pointing out that during World War II, President Roosevelt by a Presidential decree had approved arrest and internment of all Japanese citizens or Japanese origin Americans in camps. As per Donald Trump, the security of America is paramount and this can only be done by facing the Muslims head on. He has advocated a ban on all Muslims entering the USA. When asked as to what would be his reaction if Muslims from a friendly country like India, which is an ally of the USA entered the USA. He gave a simple reply that a Muslim is a Muslim and no Muslim should be allowed to enter the USA, even as a tourist. Much of the fodder is generated by Obama himself who during his 7 years as US President has been perceived as having a soft corner towards Muslims. His appointment of a Muslim as a senior official of Home land security is a case in point. He has also not gone all hog against ISI and Al Qaeda and his role during the Benghazi attacks when the US ambassador was killed is suspect. At one stage he justified it as a reaction to the making of a film on Muhammad. All this was proved as trash later on.  Donald Trump has come out openly against the Muslims and this is one reason he has taken a massive lead for nomination as the Republican candidate. If one looks back at history, such a big lead was last taken by Roosevelt decades back and so history is in the making. The Future Donald Trump may very well get the Republican nomination, but that is just the first step as he will have to work hard against the democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. Hillary is associated with the old regime and this may go against her.  In addition she is not decisive and now the common US citizen wants something decisive.  There is also a paranoid fear of Islam and its threat to disrupt everyday life. Thus there is no wonder that more than half the Governors of US states have declined to take in any refugees who are Muslims from the Middle East. Obama of course is insisting that more and more refugees be absorbed, but the undercurrent of hostility against Muslims is strong. Donald Trump has brought in a new element in the election campaign. Never before has there been a racial divide in America, but this election will be a watershed. Trump may win( chances are perhaps he will win) or lose, but any new President will not be able to ignore the anger and fear of the US citizens against Muslims. A few more acts of terror may well prove to be the proverbial last straw on the camels back. Seeing the campaign of Donald Trump can we take a few lessons? Can Indian politicians call a spade a spade and pass the Anti-terror laws, inspite of opposition from the Muslim community. Can we pass laws that are part of our Directive  Principles in the Constitution like Uniform civil code ? We need to take lessons from the campaign of Donald Trump and realize that the policy of appeasement of 1000 years leads only to self- destruction and doom.

Introduction In our society we often see the divisions among people. The rich and wealthy dominate the poor. We often forget that all men are equal. Each and every one has the right to live freely and equally. They have rights to use all the natural resources. But because of inequality many things goes in a wrong way and the voice rises from the people and that is inequality between them(poor) and the richer and which should not happen in any society or any country. Demand of equality  Actually inequality came into society only with the introduction of private property. And just because of this inequality, the differences between the poor and the richer go vast. But it is undeniable that without proper equality it will be a far cry to search for the progression or any kind of development in a society. Besides, proper justice can never prevail in a society if there is no equality in men. Sometimes some destructive wars cause for want of equality. The French revolution proves its appropriateness.  Equality actually means  In fact, all men are born equal and independent. But it is pathetic to say that even in the twenty-first century all the people cannot receive the fragrance of equality. Even though most of the counties throughout the world have democratic government all the people are not politically equal. The rich still exploit the poor, the strong oppress the weak. Besides, social injustice of various kinds such as dowry, racial discrimination, and economic exploitation of the backward classes by the classes is still prevailing in many a country all over the world. If there is equality Well if there is equality in society many things will come into change, which will be good for everyone. Nobody will treat poor as a dog or as unsafe unhygienic human begin, it will not only good for the poor but also for the richer because if the poor will progress definitely the richer will also progress in their livings. The richer are almost enjoying every sector of life but in comparison to richer the poorer are not enjoying that much of rights which the richer is enjoying. Some of the things which will change if there is equality are:- Development sector will change  Poorer will get the advantage of doing everything they want  No fight no riot will happen No division will be made on the bases of inequality by the government  Equality of seats will reserved by the government in the sector of education  Conclusion  So, people need to have three kinds of equality like political, social and economic. Actually economic, equality is the main factor. It is because without economic equality people can never get social or political equality. people can never get social or political equality. For this respect the government of a state should take the policy so that the total economic resources are equality distributed among the people. And then people will taste the equality irrespective of caste, creed, community and sex.

The Indian state is facing a new form of threat that has started after India broke Pakistan by actively supporting the creation of Bangladesh. Everybody knows ( as mentioned by General Musharraf in an interview) that Indian special forces were operating inside East Pakistan along with the Mukti Bahni, months before actual war broke out. This breakup of Pakistan was in my view a Pyrrhic victory as the Indian political leadership seemed to have caught a tiger by the tail. Another fact that has negated the Indian stand is the passing away of a decisive leader like Indira Gandhi and her son  Rajiv Gandhi and their replacement by men who lacked their strategic sense and world view. The Pakistan defeat and breakup has had a traumatic effect on the Pakistan army and millions of Pakistanis, who want revenge. A conventional war with India is not likely to  bring the desired results, hence the Pakistan political and military leadership has decided to try and bleed India with a 100 cuts. This has led to a terror movement and attacks by Fedayeen fighters on Indian assets. One of these attacks is the latest one on a high value target in Punjab, the important airbase at Pathankot. This was an operation perhaps conceived in Pakistan, but the Fedayeen who attacked were a dare devil lot and were ready to die and embrace a life in the next world. Against such a dedicated lot the Indian response was not professional and for once one can't blame the political leadership, but the security establishment where the role of Ajit Doval needs to be pointed out. This man who is an IPS officer and later joined the intelligence Bureau was the biggest weak link in this entire operation and an operation that  should have been over in 4 hours took 4 days. This has been adversely commented upon by foreign military experts and commentators. I have also analysed this operation and concluded that the Indian security aparatus is rusting and creaking and there seems to be no plan how to tackle such problems even after the dastardly attack on Mumbai on 26/11. The Operation The facts of the incident are well known.  We now know that perhaps 6 or 7 heavily armed and motivated fedayeen infiltrated into Punjab with the intention of attacking the air base at  Pathankot, which houses the MIG- 21( Bis) and Mi-25 and M- 35 attack helicopters. The fedayeen "abducted" a SP of the Punjab police , but inexplicably released him. This rouses the needle of suspicion, that this man was perhaps a conduit for some action by the terror group. The Fedayeen could easily penetrate the base and as per reports remained inside for a full 24 hours without any action by the Indian security apparatus, despite intelligence inputs being available with the Chief Security Advisor, Ajit Doval. One of the reasons is that the most military establishments as well as Pathankot airbase are guarded by the DSC( Defense Security Corps). This consists of retired soldiers from the army, who have just been given some employment so that they can earn a living. In real terms they are a demotivated lot and many are old and useless. They are the wrong persons to guard any senstive installation. Most of them also cary the First World War .303 rifles which are breech loading and unfit for combat with trained opponents who carry sophisticated weaponry like the AK -47 and 56. The DSC are thus the first line of defence and are woefully lacking in both motivation and training and thus almost redundent. Despite information being available with Ajit Doval, he decided to use his own apparatus to neutralize the Fedyeen. He overlooked the fact that the Pathankot belt has almost 50000 army troops spread out  and could have been used. All he asked for was 2 columns of army troops for back up operations. This is hard to reconcile as the army which has been fighting insurgency in Kashmir and Nagaland for decades was the best bet to fight the terror group. An examination of the profile of Ajit Doval will show that he was unfit to take charge of such a operation. Firstly, to command troops in a counter insurgency operation is a different game from sitting in an arm chair and sifting intelligence information. Doval all his life was an IPS officer and responsible for such mundane things as traffic control, crime and law and order. Later he joined the Intelligence Bureau and retired as director. The job in the intelligence Bureau is one of collecting and interpreting information and does not involve actual operations. Thus poor Doval in real terms had no idea as to what it means to fight the Fedayeen in a counter insurgency operation. That was the reason he failed to hand over the operation to the army. Ajit Doval perhaps wanted to corner all the "glory" of killing the fedayeen and  as part of his plan airlifted 150 commandos from the National Guard from Manesar from Haryana. These commandos were rushed to Pathankot and had no knwledge of the region, its topography and environment. It took them many hours to get acquainted with the topography of the region. Ajit Doval thus committed a cardinal blunder by handing the operation to the NIS and keeping the army out. He was assisted by the DSC which as I have pointed out are not the best form of defense. The NIS could make no headway and the result is that a Lt  Colonel  was sacrificed. Losing such a senior officer was by itself a blow. After 4 terrorists had been killed, it was Doval who informed the Home Minister that the operation is "over". Nothing could be more silly than this as the operation continued for another 2 days  and the Home Minister Rajnath Singh had to cut a sorry figure, as he had tweeted his congratulation on this operation. Doval lost precious time and at the end of the 3rd day asked for Army help. The army has had counter insurgency operation for decades and should have been called in at the first sign, especially as it had over 2 divisions in the area.  This shows that Doval had no comprehension of conduct of an operation. One wishes he had at least taken lessons from the 26/11 attack which also dragged on for 6 days. The Israeli's ( who lost many of their citizens) were highly critical of that operation which they felt should have been finished inside 6 hours. Doval needed to have studied the operations of Israeli and American outfits. One really can't blame him as he was a man unfit for the job. It's about time we stopped scraching each other back and say he is a " old wise war horse" and such euphuisms which lead nowhere. The fact is this operation again brought out the incompetence of the security establishment. It's about time people like Ajit Doval are confined to intelligence work and the job of security advisor handed to a professional soldier who has handled battle hardy troops. Pakistan has also removed a civilian as security advisor and replaced him with a professional general. The Security Advisor appointment should not be thought off as an alternate appointment avenue for IPS. Incidentally Doval retired from the IB in 2005. Why can't he be sent home ? Lessons Lessons have a meaning if they are to be followed. One had assumed after over 250 deaths and the botched up operations on 26/11 in Mumbai, the security operations would be better. One will recollect it took 11 hours for the NSG to move in to attack the terrorists, holed up in the luxury hotels at that time. There also is a need to re-evaluate the role of the DSC. They need to be disbanded or at least used for other duties than guard sensitive installations like Radar stations and air fields. The government must think of alternate avenues of employment for retired soldiers.  Secondly there seems no comprehensive plan and the security advisor is an untrained man. There is a need for a professional soldier to head this senstive appointment. The reaction time also needs to be looked into, as of now it takes over 24 hours for action to begin. The US forces can act anywhere in the world inside 2 hours. At least In India we should be able to react inside an hour, which is a lot of time. The fact is India is labeled as a soft state . Perhaps it has something to do with the Hindu ethos where everything is left to the allmighty.
