When anybody joins Army, he doesn't expect a Bed of Roses. When the Jawan becomes a Martyr both the people and the Government vie with each other to sing Paeans about the Jawan. High time to change this attitude. The Government should to take care of all the measures to help these Martyrs.

When you join the armed forces this is something one has to be ready for. It is now for the government, corporate world and people to look after his family.

SHANA MARIA VERGHIS created new topic Is anyone of you a caregiver? Or do you know someone who is?Has technology been of any use in this regard?.
There was a schoolgirl in North Kerala who was taking care of two bedridden parents by herself. She had to get water from the river each day, bringing the bucket alone. So she developed a trolley system, and got an innovation award for it. Do you know of similar stories that are probably not mentioned on the Web? And also those involving technology, because I"m assisting in a project thats related to personalised healthcare using apps and the internet. It's part of a new thing called Industry 4.0. It's already begun and is going to affect manufacturing sector and other industries. I'm sure you are already familar with it, because a lot of the tech giants like Microsoft, HP etc are already involved. Basically its about connecting thousands of objects to your mobile phone. I'm specifically interested in care-giving and healthcare sectors.

SHANA MARIA VERGHIS created new topic Does anyone have any idea how the Gayatri Mantra and other mantras were originally discovered?.
It might help if some of your anscestors were priests I suppose. And you're into the scriptures etc. Unless history has turned the oriiginal memories into myth making machines

The youngsters these days are a very smart lot much more intelligent and knowledgeable than most people give them credit for and it is untrue to say that they don't travel nor do they know about our heritage. They are far more adventurous and travel whenever they can in groups and by themselves unlike the old timers who just spit out book knowledge ,refusing to travel for one reason or the other and get first hand experience.Even from smaller towns , we get to see groups of young people exploring places which is something very few people did a few generations ago ! I come across a lot of youngsters in my college and school and at other social groups and majority of them are very independent in their thinking and if you strike the right balance, they too respond positively !
I am agree with you, no doubt present generation is much smart that our generation. But I am not agree with you that old timers just spit out book knowledge. In old time travelling was not so easy like present time. At that time books are major source of information.
True ! Youngsters certainly have an added advantage these days so all the more reason not to underestimate them and their talents , they may not fit the perception of older generations but that is how it is ..

The education and job should be on the basis of merit and not on the basis of caste. Otherwise, talented and capable people cannot reach in deserved positions. Government should take action to stop such unnecessary practices from this society.
Government will not do anything and as a matter of fact they have perpetuated caste reservation for ever. How government will do anything. Our so called reformers like Gandhi and Vivekanada also backed the caste system. So the only hope is a revolution
Like 'green revolution' and 'red revolution, we need to start a 'merit revolution' to stop the reservation system of the government for the scheduled castes. Otherwise, our country won't have any development. India needs people for growth and development. Can we progress, if the government recruit undeserved candidate from the scheduled cast for a particular position?
What you think merit revolution is possible in our country. Here PG and Ph.d are applying for office assistant jobs.
Goes to show how useless our degrees have become...get a seat through reservation and scraping through a degree does not make for quality, I guess such PHDs and PGs are fit for the jobs they are applying for !

The new generation comes with new ideas and tries to make them practical. They always like to do something different that the world never seen before. Here the bride came to the marriage hall by riding a bullet that anybody ever did before. She succeeded to make her marriage a special event.
Such out of the way activities, though are looked down by the elders as bizarre, youngsters get a thrill out of their activities. It's a sense of achievement for them.
If we celebrate any event with new way it will more memorable and exciting that traditional way. Here some person celebrate their birthday by donating blood.
Curiosity makes anybody be it a child or an elder, if something happens in a different way than the usual.Of course celebrating a birthday by organizing Blood donation camp is a noble way of celebrating birthday
It is good thing to associate some social service with each and every event. On marriage anniversary we can gift some items to organization who arrange collective marriage and one death anniversary of elders we can spend some time at old age house or give than lunch or dinner.

Very interesting places to visit!! But visiting all these places are not possible in my life. But I would like to visit 'hanging pillar' and 'gandikota canyon' in Andra Pradesh. These two places are somewhat near to my place.
Why visiting all these places are not possible. If you decide to visit all these than no one can stop you. Good luck.
If one selects right Tourist Bus and reservations are done well in advance, One can cover all these places IN A SHORT PERIOD. of course a sound planning is required,
